“I am not going to fit in this dress.
I am definitely not going to fit.
Good Lord, how many more days do I have to starve!!”
This probably is the story of every female, who has gained that extra and unwanted flab, over the years, due to a variety of reasons, irrespective of age. Your weight starts bothering you precisely at the time, when you want to look your best. Result? Crash diets and other unhealthy ways, which though might be able to get you the results in your requisite time frame, but are extremely unhealthy. These diets strip you of essential nutrients, and rip you off your natural glow and health.
There are three articles, which might help you in achieving your yearly goal of beating the flab and being healthy, at the same time. The only thing that you need to do is follow your healthy diet religiously. You will have your official cheat days, don’t worry about that, but never starve yourself to “get into that dress”. The worst that you can do to your body is an unhealthy crash diet. The three articles that can help you on a daily basis, without having the need to starve yourself are:
So, ladies, sit back, enjoy the article and take notes.
Smoothie 1: Apple Flaxseed Cinnamon Smoothie
This is the best breakfast smoothie you can give to your tummy, as it is going to keep you satisfied without feeling starved in the least till your lunch time. Amazing, isn’t it? Flaxseed is known to keep you full, and thus it prevents overeating. A combination of Apple and ground flaxseed, will result in a bulked up smoothie, rich in fiber. For best results, prepare and leave it in fridge overnight, for consumption during breakfast. Your calories will go down and nutrition level will go up.
8 ounces coconut water
4 raw almonds
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (alcohol free, preferably)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped apple (about 1 medium apple)
1/2 scoop unsweetened protein powder

Combine all the ingredients into a blender, and blend for approximately 10 to 15 seconds. Drink fresh, with or without ice cubes, as per your preference.
Smoothie 2: Banana, Strawberry with Peanut Butter

Smoothie 3: Sweet Spinach Smoothie
Spinach!! It reminds me every time of Popeye the Sailor man, and the strength that he derives immediately after consumption. I guess he was the reason that most of us ate spinach at that time, especially boys. Well ladies, Popeye was not wrong you know. Spinach does give strength to knock off anyone who tries to piss you off (read “eve teasers, molesters” etc.). Plus, it is the main ingredient for a healthy smoothie that, on consumption gives you 100% satisfaction and tummy full of a la carte, without having consumed the actual calories.
6 ounces plain nonfat Greek yogurt
2 cups spinach leaves, packed
1 ripe pear, peeled, cored, and chopped
15 green or red grapes
2 tablespoons chopped avocado
1 to 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
Again, follow the same procedure. Mix together, and blend for some time, till all the ingredients are blended together in a thick, smoothie form. Your smoothie is fresh, yummy and ready to consume.

Big on proteins, calcium, and fiber, this smoothie is your perfect way to start a morning. 5 raw almonds
1 red apple
3/4 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup nonfat milk
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Blend the ingredients into a smoothie texture, and consume. Be full till lunch time, without having the need to starve yourself!!

1/2 cup of low-fat vanilla frozen yogurt
1 shot of espresso
2 teaspoons of cocoa powder
Add ingredients to a blender in this order, blend at a high speed until smooth.
Smoothie 7: Mango Smoothie
Mangoes and Summers!! The king of fruits comes for a very short while, so we might as well make the most of it. And what’s better than a cool glass that is full of health and taste. Here we go.

Last, and the yummiest one,
Smoothie 8: Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie
Oh we all love chocolates, there’s no denying that. We all feel guilty after eating them, there’s no denying that either. So, here I present another choco smoothie, to satisfy your chocolate craving and taste buds without compromising on your diet regimen.
1/2 cup of skim milk or soy milk
6 ounces of vanilla yogurt
1/4 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup of fresh raspberries
1 cup of frozen raspberries or ice
Blend until smooth. Serve fresh and enjoy.
Smoothies are the quickest and healthiest ways to lose weight. Though, it is obvious that you will not be losing weight in a fortnight but, according to experts, the correct way of including smoothies in your monthly diet, is following:
1. For a week, drink 2 to 3 glasses of smoothies, with two snack meals.
2. For the next, 2 glasses of smoothies, 1 snack meal, and 1 full meal.
3. For the last week, 1 glass of smoothie a day, and your normal meal.
I would just say that include these smoothies and the teas that Neha had suggested in her post, into your regimen. They both will boost your health and your beauty. Plus, with these smoothies, you will get your quota of nutrition and you won’t feel starved. Being very low in calories, you lose and maintain that glorious weight and flat tummy, devoid of flab that you have always wanted. As I always say, always control, never starve. Have everything that you love to eat, but limit yourself.
This summer, go the smoothie way of cutting the flab.
