Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeliner Brush 125501 Review

Today’s review is about Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeliner Brush 125501. I own a few Barbara Hofmann brushes. I am impressed with a few and not so impressed with others. Barbara Hofmann brushes have around 5 different series which vary in quality as well as cost. The brush I am reviewing today is from the ‘Basic Series’, which is the lowest range in terms of price and quality.

Size: 13.5 cm

My Experience with Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeliner Brush 125501:

When I bought this brush it had no plastic or cardboard packaging. It was totally bare. I had to wash the product for hygienic reasons after purchase and before first use. The basic brushes are all black and the plastic used in making is not the best. They feel very light to hold. The thickness and the length are good enough too. The bristles are dark black in color and are made of pony hair. I normally don’t prefer animal hair as it’s difficult to maintain such bristles. I have washed it once and there wasn’t any fall out. I just don’t have the patience to take the extra care of animal hair brushes.

I generally wash my brushes once a week and use the same method for all. I just apply some shampoo and scrub it on my palm. Then, rinse. These are as good as new. One advantage of having black bristles is that the brush doesn’t look dirty even after a few uses. The bristles are round and pointy. I have used it only a few times to apply my eyeliner. Few of the bristles have started to tweak out, making application of the eyeliner a nightmare. I am not an expert when it comes to applying eyeliner. The brush is also quite long I tend to move it around and can’t get the right grip.

Barbara Hofmann Basic Series Eyeliner Brush Review

Overall, I am not at all satisfied with the product. I would prefer the normal eyeliner brush over this one. I would suggest using the brush for pinpoint concealing. It’s good for that. That’s the hack I use to make use of the brush. It’s definitely not a good buy. If you are new to makeup and do not wish to invest in expensive brushes, you may give this one a try.
