This is my first review and the product is Sea Island Cotton Body Lotion from Bath and Body works. I got this lotion as a gift from my mom’s friend who got it from USA and well I thought I would give it a try because I loved the fragrance a lot.

I got the product description from internet. There was nothing on the bottle though. Here it goes: Our exclusive Signature Body Lotion formula, fortified with powerful ingredients like super conditioning Shea Butter, fast absorbing Jojoba Oil and protective Vitamin E, hydrates skin with moisture that lasts all day. Our non-greasy formula absorbs quickly and completely to leave skin feeling incredibly soft, smooth and nourished, making it the perfect daily moisturizer.
Our exclusive Sea Island cotton fragrance is a clean scent, inspired by pure white cotton flowing in fresh ocean air
Usage: Smooth over body to moisturize and lightly fragrance skin.
It comes in a greyish-blue bottle made out of plastic which is of good quality and with a squeezer cap.
Colour and Texture:
The colour is white and is quite creamy in texture and not runny. The lotion spreads easily on the skin and doesn’t leave any white cast.
It has a floral fragrance that reminds me of cucumber and lemon mixture and after blending it on, it smells like a baby lotion.
My Experience with Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton Body Lotion:
Well as I said, I loved the fragrance, so I applied it after bath in the morning and it got absorbed pretty easily. Even though it has jojoba oil and shea butter, it failed to moisturise my hands for a long time. My hands felt dry after 2 hours. This body lotion doesn’t have any SPF, so I had to put my sunscreen on top. This is a lightweight lotion, very well suited for summers and for oily-skinned beauties, but dry-skinned ladies may not find the moisturization enough and I won’t even think of using this body lotion during winters. It became soapy when my hands came in contact with water, so I had to apply again.
Pros of Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton Body Lotion:
- The fragrance is pleasantly floral and smells like baby lotion after a while which most of us love.
- Easily absorbed into the skin.
- Contains shea butter and jojoba oil which are well known for moisturising and nourishing properties.
- Packaging is good and sturdy.
- Travel friendly.
- Spreads easily and a little is enough for the hands.
- Not tested on animals.
Cons of Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton Body Lotion:
- Moisturising effect is only for 2 hours or 3 hours at the most.
- The price is more when compared with the results.
- Limited availability.
- Contains parabens.
- Becomes soapy on contact with water.
- No sun protection factor.
- Good only for oily-skinned ladies and would be best for summers.
Will I Buy Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton Body Lotion Again?
No, I already have got Vaseline cocoa butter its a lot better than this body lotion economically and quality wise as well.
Do I Recommend Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton Body Lotion?
Only for oily-skinned ladies and for summers only, and for those who want a light moisturising lotion.
