Today’s review is about Blistex MedPlus Stick. This happens to be my first Blistex product. Read on to find out if it could impress me. Blistex is not so common in Germany since it’s a US-based brand. I bought this product for 2 reasons: this is more of a lip care product and it has SPF15. Let’s start the review.
Price: €3 for 4.25 g

My Experience with Blistex MedPlus Stick:
The product comes in a twist tube which is very cute and small when compared to Labello sticks. The tube is not glamorous or fancy. It is dark blue on the outside with a cap. The cap opens and closes easily. The whole packaging is sturdy and perfect to carry in a clutch or even in a jeans pocket. It hardly takes any space. The lip balm itself is golden yellow in color. The formula is thick and easy to apply. Just one swipe and you are done! It does not leave any kind of stain on the lips. If you like the nude look, you can wear just this and you are ready to go. This lip balm has a minty fragrance.
The first time I applied this balm, I was taken aback by the reaction on my lips. My lips started to burn. I have never had such an experience earlier. My lips were not even cracked when I applied this. I guess it’s the menthol in the product which causes such kind of a feeling. Even now I feel the burning sensation as soon as I apply this balm but it lasts for just a minute. Nowadays, I am getting used to the product. After the burning sensation, you get a cool, minty effect. I have even tasted the balm, and it tastes kind of sweet.
I do not prefer any lip care product which tastes sweet since it makes me crave for sugary products and also I tend to wipe it since it makes me feel uncomfortable. I don’t like anything sweet on my lips. It’s a kind of a distraction. But the lipcare does last for few hours without drinking or eating. It easily gets transferred when you drink water too. This lip balm doesn’t feel sticky or oily. It gets absorbed easily and it does look after the lips. The lips feel much moisturized after usage. The best part is that it has SPF 15, hence it provides sun protection too. I like everything about the product except the sweet taste.
Pros of Blistex MedPlus Stick:
⦁ Small, handy packaging
⦁ Gets easily absorbed
⦁ Non-sticky and non-oily
⦁ SPF 15
⦁ Good staying power
⦁ Does not leave any kind of stain
Cons of Blistex MedPlus Stick:
⦁ Initial 1 minute results in a burning sensation
⦁ Sweet taste
⦁ Not suitable for kids under 7 years of age
⦁ Easily transferable
IMBB Rating: 3.5/5
Would I Repurchase Blistex MedPlus Stick?
No, because I do not like the sweet taste of it.
Would I Recommend Blistex MedPlus Stick?
Only if you don’t mind the sweet taste on your lips. You will also need a few days to get adjusted to the burning sensation.
