Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo Review

Hello sweeties,

Boots is one brand that I haven’t got to try lately because of the limited availability. The women living overseas are very lucky as they can try everything from Boots. But whenever I spot anything here, I surely do pick it up to try out. This time I got ‘hair spa’ shampoo and conditioner from Boots. So here is a detailed review on Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo for you guys!

My Experience with Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo:

Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo Review1

The Boots hair spa shampoo comes in a big outward curved bottle which is transparent. The lid looks like tin. The bottle looks very unique and it looks like it has some magic potion inside it. It has a crackled label at the bottom revealing some flowers called “kaew”. The bottle is sleek and due to it being transparent, it becomes very easy to keep a note on the quantity. The quantity is huge, but it had to be because it seems pricey considering Boots is a drugstore brand. The shampoo comes in a deep yellow colour and the consistency looks pretty thick and gel-like from the bottle, but when poured into the palms, it turns out to be pretty runny. I always dilute this with water and then use it.

It creates a very good lather when diluted with water and is very gentle on the scalp. The gentleness is somewhere around Johnson’s Baby because I had no tears even when this got in my eyes. 😛 It has a very unique fragrance which is very relaxing and soothing. It smells very floral and very natural – no scents, no perfumes. It smells like those aromatherapy oils which are meant only for soothing the souls. I always feel very relaxed and calm when I use this. The fragrance lingers in my hair for a day. It cleanses the scalp very well and leaves my hair very fresh and bouncy.

Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo Review4

As this shampoo is very gentle, it does not work well to remove the build-up on the scalp, but makes my oily hair fresh and hence I have to use some other clarifying shampoo to remove build-up. I have to shampoo my hair twice with this when I have oil in my hair and when not, one shot is enough. It did give effects close to a hair spa, but not exactly like that. It gives me very soft, shiny and silky hair. My hair had become brittle in the past few months, but this shampoo has helped me get back the shine.

Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo Review5

I do not have to use a serum post this because this does really good. My hair actually looks healthy if I do not blow dry it. It will not completely work on frizzy hair if you blow dry the hair. So I use this only on alternate days when I am home; the times when I want to blow-dry my hair, I switch to another shampoo. This is nothing special because it can be easily replaced, but I do not regret buying this because it does everything that a good shampoo has to.

Pros of Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo:

• A big, sleek, transparent bottle
• It can be listed under the travel-friendly category because it is very lightweight
• The shampoo lathers up very well, cleansing the scalp well
• It makes my hair bouncy and shiny
• It makes my hair soft, smooth and healthy-looking
• A great gentle option which can be used daily as well
• The scent is a very relaxing and soothing, more like fresh flowers with an aromatic burst

Cons of Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo:

• Does not remove build-up
• Very average, nothing special
• It can be easily substituted

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Boots Hair Spa Kaew Shampoo?
No. Although the shampoo works very well and is super gentle, it is still pretty ordinary.

IMBB Rating:
3.5/5

Conclusion:
I think this brand is pretty average and although this gives good results, they have stuff that can be easily substituted.

  1. wow such a nice, gentle shampoo, but as you said, nothing extraordinary. I have never tried this brand for haircare, but would love to try a product or two since you like it. 😀
