Recently, I bought a few lip liners and glosses from the Catrice Velvet Matt range. So, today’s review is all about Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream in the shade Plumming Bird. Let’s get started.
Price: €3.59 for 3.4ml
Matt Mousse. The absolute must-have product for anyone seeking a gorgeous, silky matt finish with a high coverage that leaves the lips feeling wonderfully nourished. Due to its super soft applicator, the highly pigmented texture can be applied easily and accurately. The mousse-like lip cream is as light as a feather and is enriched with vitamin E.
• Velvety, matt finish.
• Silky, long-lasting texture.
• Leaves the lips feeling wonderfully pampered.

My Experience with Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream – Plumming Bird:
The Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream comes in a small glass bottle with a black cap. The basic details of the product are mentioned on the glass bottle and the color of the lip cream can be seen through the transparent glass bottle. The screw cap holds the applicator which is short, but it is handy for applying the product. The sponge is very flimsy and wobbly because of which I use a separate brush for applying this product onto my lips. The bottle is small and travel-friendly. However, the glass bottle is not sturdy as it developed a crack when it fell down from my stash.
The lip cream is thick, creamy and it has a mousse-y texture that spreads easily on the lips but, there are chances that you might end up using a lot more product than required. So, applying it evenly takes a little time. The product is glossy and settles into a nice glossy finish which is nowhere close to a matte finish. It also feels sticky on the lips.
The lip cream isn’t moisturising on the lips but, it does not dry out the lips either. It can be used without a lip balm underneath. However, I prefer using this lip cream on well-moisturised lips. The product doesn’t settle into creases and it hides the pigmentation of my lips by providing a full coverage.
The staying power of the lip cream is a big disappointment. The lip cream hardly stays on my lips for 2-3 hours after which it starts fading away. It gets transferred everywhere, to the area below my lips, to glass cups and what not. But, the product doesn’t bleed. I guess this is because of the creamy texture. Overall, this lip cream isn’t worth the buy.
Pros of Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream – Plumming Bird:

Cons of Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Cream – Plumming Bird:
- Does not provide a matte or velvet finish.
- A creamy gloss and not a matte cream.
- Lasts only for 2-3 hours.
- Transfers everywhere.
- False claims.
