China Glaze Nail Polish in City Siren Review

China Glaze Nail Polish in City Siren

Hey there!

Ever since nail art made its way into pop culture, I have been on the lookout for brands like Seche, OPI and China Glaze. YouTube makeup gurus rave about these nail paints and I really wanted to try them too. But I was not willing to pay the exorbitantly marked up prices that most online portals claim in India.

So I waited patiently for my bro or sis-in-law to make it to India. When I got to know that my sis-in-law will be coming to India in January, I squealed with joy and immediately sat down to research the products that I want to buy. And boy! I hauled stuff like a crazy person but atleast I am a happy nut. :p

The product I am now going to review is one of my “safer” China Glaze purchases, simply because of the color choice that is universally flattering.

Price: $4 (without shipping); 250INR

Quantity: 14 ml

Packaging: It comes in the classic China Glaze packaging. Big glass bottle with a matte black brush handle that feels sturdy but I am scared to drop it and find out if it actually is.

My take on China Glaze Nail Polish in City Siren:

First off, please excuse that black ring on my index fingernail it’s my Voter Mark that refuses to go. I have a feeling that my nail is permanently stained and I’ll need to let the mark grow out. *sigh*

Anyway nail mishaps set aside, this nail polish is a bit on the thin side. One coat gives you a streaky translucent coat that forms the base for the second coat of beautiful even colour. As I have come to learn, very few international nail paints are single coaters. This nail paint is no exception and requires atleast 2 coats or more for perfect even coverage.

The bottle houses an astronomic 14 ml, a whole lot more than one really requires. I don’t think I have ever finished an 8 ml bottle! :p

But nevertheless because of this colour being universally flattering, I don’t think finishing it would be an issue. The brush is suitably wide and requires 3 brush strokes to cover my entire nail bed. But do note that I have abnormally large hands and nails, so for normal humans 2 strokes would be enough. 😉

Because of the thin consistency, the chances of it becoming a thick goopy mess anytime before a year or two seems unlikely. Due to its thin consistency the coats dry within 2-3 minutes but it’s best to refrain from doing heavy lifting for atleast 10 minutes to allow the polish to set completely.

  1. It’s the perfect red nail paint! I bought one recently from maybelline colorshow and it turned out to be such a weird red in me, i dint like it! You have lovely nails! Also i am curious what all did you order from US? My friend is visiting California in Feb and am trying to make a list, would love to get some help from you. 🙂

    1. It is pretty perfect but also very common. You can think of the red coral from Lakme Color Crush.
But that set aside, I ordered over 40 nail paints from head2toebeauty.com and they delivered all my products fast. Only one China Glaze fast dry’s spray was damaged. *clap* *cry*
