I have been digging eyeshadow sticks lately and the journey continues with a few more shades from the “All-Day Waterproof” range by Colorbar. I have reviewed a few shades before (Moss, Mulberry, Olive, Slate, Dream) and I am glad that they have maintained the high quality across all the shades. Here is the review on the shade “Fairy,” which is very true to its name.

My Experience with Colorbar Fairy All Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick:

The eyeshadow sticks come in a silver-colored paper carton with all details written on it. The pencil has a black plastic body with a color-coded base. The base comes off as a sharpener which can be used to get a sharp tip for a precise application each time. The pencil comes in a twist-up style and thankfully twists back completely. The shade name and number are mentioned on the body and the outer carton as well.

The texture is creamy, but does not melt on touching the skin. The pigmentation is great and one stroke gives enough color for the color to show up on the eyelids. This particular shade is so shimmery that it loses a bit of intensity when you blend it; so going over for a second layer is required if you want to keep the intensity alive. Since the tip is sharp, it helps to draw a sharp line as a liner (doesn’t look nice as a liner on my skin tone), else can be used as a shadow.

“Fairy” is a super shimmery, peach-toned white which looks wonderful as a wash of color on the lid. It is definitely not for everyday wear but I love such shades which glam up the look without looking over the top. It is a great option if you are looking for something that would give the hint of shimmer yet look subtle and cute with a simple black liner on the lash line.

The staying power is great as it stays on my lids without fading or smearing. I have not used it on my waterline considering it is super shimmery and the shimmers might get in my eyes causing irritation. I had to remove it with an oil-based makeup remover but the shimmers tend to stay back, which is slightly bothersome to me.

Overall, I like the idea of shadow sticks that all brands are coming up with these days. This is slightly expensive and this particular shade is a personal choice/preference; other than that, I have zero complaints.

Repurchase – Yes, in other shades though.
Recommend – you must give these shadow sticks from Colorbar a try if you are looking for no-fuss eye makeup.
