Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Dance Wid Me Review

I have reviewed quite a few lipsticks from Colorbar’s Velvet Matte range recently – Check Mate, Way Beyond, Mysterious Ways, Raise Ur Glass, Glancing Stare, etc. These lipsticks are priced at INR 325 each. Though Colorbar has come up with new shades, the issue of “pink stain” remains the same. “Dance Wid Me” is a beautiful maroon lipstick with some brown tones to it. Take a look:

Product Description:
For a rich lip color with a creamy shine, the Velvet Matte Lipstick, available in stunning shades infuse the lips with vibrancy. Its unique 2-in-1 formulation gives the lips a creamy, yet matte finish. A one of a kind product in India, it has super softening agents that give the lips a soft and supple appearance while keep them nourished with vitamin E. Staying on up to 5 hours on application, the Velvet Matte Lipstick can be further accentuated with lip gloss and lip liner.

My Experience with Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Dance Wid Me:

This is a nice and thick creamy matte lipstick and it’s a maroon brick-brown shade. If you layer it up, more brown tones come forward.

In one coat, this lipstick coats your lips easily in a deep brick shade. I find this very apt for fall/winter. It can also easily hide lip pigmentation too. I would not call it a very smooth lipstick, but yes, it is good enough in one or two coats as it melts with the warmth of application.

The lipstick would last you a very long time. It is not sheer or glossy and this is the reason it stays without smudging much. The color is such that it looks vampy but really brightens the face up. I would recommend this shade to 25+ girls because it is a little too dark for younger girls. Again, similar to other velvet matte lipsticks from Colorbar, this too has a staining problem.

It stains badly and even if you use a bi-phased remover, the stain stays back. I don’t know what horrifying chemical is being used in the lipstick making process that leaves such a stain behind.

Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Dance Wid Me:

  • Smooth, thick, semi-matte texture.
  • Nice deep fall winter shade.
  • Lasts well on me.
  • Does not bleed since it’s thick enough.
  • Not too drying.

Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Dance Wid Me:

  • Too deep and dark for younger women or those who cannot carry a dark lipstick.
  • Not moisturising enough for dry lips.
  • Could have been more creamy or matte like the name suggests.

Would I Recommend Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Dance Wid Me?
It is a beautiful shade of brick maroon tones but it does leave a stain. It has the benefits of wearing a dark color too, so I do recommend it for the shade, not for the quality of the lipstick.
