Today’s review is on a translucent setting powder which has been raved a lot in the social media. It’s been in the market for quite some time now and I wanted to try a good setting powder because I wasn’t really impressed by the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. I picked this CoverFX powder in the shade “Translucent Light.” There’s another shade available “Medium Deep” which caters deeper skinned beauties more. So, let’s see how this this bad boy fared.
An ultra-translucent, loose powder that sets makeup for all-day wear while imparting a soft-focus, air-brushed finish.
This ultra-lightweight loose setting powder is consciously formulated without talc for an incredibly translucent finish that sets makeup for all-day wear. It minimizes transfer without adding any color to the skin or overpowering your foundation finish. Ideal for the baking makeup technique. This setting powder is formulated with light-diffusing particles that blur and smooth for a skin perfecting airbrushed effect that doesn’t look chalky or dry. It features universal shades for a translucent finish on all skin tones.
Suggested Usage:Dip a Powder Brush into the powder, tap of excess, and sweep the brush across the face to set makeup. Use a Beauty Blender or sponge to set or bake your foundation and concealer.
Standard Size: CAD 42plus taxes for 0.35 oz/10gms of product.
Travel Size: CAD 17 plus taxes for 0.14 oz/4 gm of product.
My Experience with Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder:
It comes in a big sturdy plastic tub which looks classy. It has a metallic silver cap with the brand name printed on top of it. The most interesting and user-friendly aspect of the packaging is the lid and sifter it comes with. I have had experiences with other loose setting powders where the powder just flies all over the place, but in this particular packaging, you can control the amount of powder you need by using the sifter.
OMG! The powder itself is so finely milled and has a buttery smooth feel to it. It goes perfectly on the skin and does give your skin a flawless, and air-brushed finish. I use it to set my under eyes and also all over my face. I notice a lot less creasing under my eyes when I use this powder. I don’t bake my face often, but whenever I do, this powder does an amazing job.
It never appears cakey or dry but the only caveat is that the under eye area must be hydrated or else it might exaggerate fine lines. It doesn’t leave any white cast and sinks into the skin very well. It provides a very matte finish and my oily skin loves it.
I am happy with my purchase and I have not been able to put it down since the time that I bought it. I would say that it has become my holy grail setting powder!
Pros of Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder:

- Delivers a perfect matte finish.
- Does not cling onto dry patches.
- Does not exaggerate fine lines.

- Does not accentuate pores.
Cons of Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder:
- Might not work if under eye area is not properly hydrated.
- Expensive for the quantity provided and as compared to other setting powders available in the market.
