Hello all,
I am back with another shade “Berries n Cream” from the Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams. I have already reviewed 2 shades – Strawberry Frappe and Cherry Cream Pie from this range. Read on to find out more.
Price:
$6.99. Prices may vary from store to store.
Product Description:
Soft shine and rich color in one luscious lip balm! Infused with shea butter, Colorlicious Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams locks in moisture for smooth, soft lips with rich, creamy color. Find your craveable shades!
How to Apply:
Generously apply gloss balm to lips, starting from the center and working your way out. Smack lips together and pucker up!
My Experience with Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams – 290 Berries n Cream:
Packaging: This lip cream comes in a chubby crayon packaging. The tube is a dusty rose and the base is silver. The color of the tube is supposed to match the shade of the lip product thus making it easy to identify if you have multiple of them.
The cap shuts tight and is opaque. It has a twist-up mechanism which makes it easy to use. No sharpening is needed which means no product is wasted. But the lipstick does not swivel down completely and part of the lipstick remains exposed. This makes it prone to accidental nicking. Since the product is in a lip crayon format, it is easy to apply on the Cupid’s bow and corners of the lips.
Shade/Pigmentation: Berries n Cream is a mix of dusty rose and mauve shades. It has a slightly frosty finish. This is a dull shade and hence is tricky to pull off. It does not add any brightness to the face on its own. But will look good when paired with a good eye makeup. The pigmentation is okay but you do need multiple swipes for an even finish.
Texture, Finish, Pigmentation: The texture of the lip cream is indeed creamy and it glides smoothly on the lips like a balm. It doesn’t tug at your lips at all. It feels quite moisturizing and comfortable on the lips.
The finish of this particular shade is a frosty one. The lip cream lasts around 4 hours and can survive light meals. It does not clump on the lips anddoes not leave behind any stain.
Pros of Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams – 290 Berries n Cream:
- Glides smoothly on the lips.
- Feels quite moisturizing.
- Easy twist-up mechanism.
Cons of Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams – 290 Berries n Cream:
- Not-so-great staying power.
- Frosty finish does not look very flattering.
- This particular shade might not suit all.
IMBB Rating:
2/5

The color is pretty and reminds me of Revlon’s Sultry but the finish is a turn off.
Shade is too dull for my liking 🙁
