DIY How to Clean False Eye Lashes

Hi all,

Today I went through my makeup stash to sort and arrange all my makeup products and happen to come across these unwashed false eyelashes from Ardell. I usually wash them after use, but I guess I forgot to wash them last time, when I’ve used it. So, I thought let me share a post on how I clean my lashes to increase the longevity of them for future use. False eyelashes are one of those delicate makeup essentials, that need extra care after using them. It is important to clean them after every use and here is what I usually do to clean them. Let’s get to know the steps quickly.

DIY Cleaning False Eye Lashes

DIY Cleaning False Eye Lashes Pouring Oil on Pads
Step 1: At first, I’ve taken two cotton pads and poured good amount of baby oil on the inner side of both the pads. You can also use a eye makeup remover solution or cleansing solution for cleaning the lashes.

Step 2: I’ve then gently placed my false eyelash on one of the pads with the help of a tweezer. Then, I’ve placed the other pad over the eyelash and pressed it with my fingers for a minute. Then, I opened the pad to see how the eyelash has released the coated mascara.

Step 3: Almost 90 percent of the eyelash gets cleaned in the second step. But then, to clean the eyelash even better, I’ve drenched a q-tip in baby oil and cleaned the eyelash using a q-tip. This process removes even the minor leftover makeup.

Step 4: Now, we move on to wash the eyelashes. For this, I’ve used a baby shampoo considering it’s mild properties. I’ve dropped a few drops of shampoo in a bowl filled with water, combined them with the help of a spoon and placed the eyelash in the water for a minute again.

Step 5: After the eyelash gets thoroughly washed, I moved on to place the eyelash on a clean cotton pad and pressed with another pad to remove the excess water. I let it dry for few minutes and placed it back in the eyelash case. Thus, they’re ready to use again.
