Today, I will be sharing the recipe for one of my favorite do-it-yourself cleansers. I like to oats and have been developing a liking for rose petals as well. This is a wonderful, gentle and mild cleanser that keeps the skin nourished and radiant. Let’s get into the details.
Ingredients and their Benefits:
Rose Petal Powder:
Rose petals possess anti-bacterial properties that help in treating acne and preventing further infestation. The regular usage of rose petals minimizes the occurrence of acne too. They also work wonderfully when it comes to skin toning. The toning properties of rose petals make the skin soft, smooth and clear. The rose petals also help in hydrating and moisturizing the skin. They effectively treat dry patches and help get rid of flaky skin. While rose petals help in moisturizing the skin they effectively control excessive oil production too.
Oats help in absorbing excess oil from the skin. It is a natural cleanser and also works as an exfoliator thereby removing the dead skin cells. It can remove dirt and oil from the pores and make the skin appear clearer. The regular usage of oats on the skin reduces the visibility of pores and treats skin congestion.
It also contains polysaccharides, which help in treating dry and flaky skin. Oats are well-known for their skin lightening properties, thus this cleanser evens out the skin tone as well. Apart from this, oats can eliminate acne-causing bacteria from the skin. Oats also improve the collagen production in the body.
Red Sandalwood Powder:
Red sandalwood powder helps in clearing up pimples as it helps in balancing the oil. It keeps your pores unclogged and fresh. Using sandalwood powder helps in soothing the pimples and relieving the skin. When red sandalwood powder is used regularly it helps in fading away acne scars and pigmentation at a faster rate. Apart from this, it also exfoliates the skin and removes the upper layer of the dead skin cells.
Anti-bacterial property of honey helps in combating acne. It moisturizes and nourishes the skin, making it soft and smooth. It treats dry patches and keeps the skin hydrated. Honey is also known to treat skin discoloration.
How to Make:
Take 1 tablespoon of rose petal powder and add half a tablespoon of red sandalwood powder and 2 tablespoons of oats powder to it. Mix everything well and store in an airtight container.
How to Use:
Take an appropriate amount of the powder cleanser; preferably half to one tablespoon.
Add appropriate amount of honey to make a smooth paste with a thin consistency.
Apply this cleanser to your skin and massage in circular motion. Leave it on for 2 minutes afterwards.
Later, rinse it off with lukewarm to normal water.
You can make this cleanser in bulk and store it in an airtight container.
