Today, I am here with a DIY powder cleanser recipe. It has goodness of rice, milk, almonds and oats that is suitable for every skin type. It helps in making skin clear and vibrant. This cleanser can be doubled up as a face pack as well. So, let’s get into the details.
Ingredients and their Benefits:
1. Rice Flour:
Rice has its own special place in Asian beauty regimen. There are many products in the market using rice as their base. Rice is known for its soothing effect. It also helps in reducing blemishes and evens out your skin tone. Rice is known for controlling excessive oil production. Regular use of rice in your beauty regimen imparts a subtle glow and brightens your skin tone.
2. Almond Powder:
The fatty acids and vitamin E present in almonds help in nourishing the skin, making it soft and smooth. Usage of almonds helps in skin lightening and improving skin texture. It makes the skin radiant and protects from sun damage.
3. Oats Powder:
Oats help in absorbing the excess oil from the skin. It is a natural cleanser and also works as an exfoliator, thereby removing the dead skin cells. It can remove all the dirt and oil from the pores and make the skin appear clearer. The regular usage of oats on the skin reduces the visibility of pores and treats the skin congestion. It also contains polysaccharides, which help in treating the dry and flaky skin. Oats is well-known for skin lightening properties, and thus it evens out the skin tone. Apart from this, oats can eliminate the acne-causing bacteria from the skin and makes it acne free as well. The usage of oats on the skin helps in improving the collagen production in the body.
4. Milk Powder:
Milk powder contains fats in a concentrated form, which helps in moisturising your skin efficiently. It keeps your skin hydrated and provides all the nutrients that are necessary for it to remain healthy. Milk powder has a high amount of lactic and malic acid; these acids make your skin plump and hydrated. Milk powder also lightens the skin tone and makes it even-toned. Apart from this, milk powder also contains alpha hydroxyl acid, which helps in exfoliating the skin in a very gentle manner. This helps in revealing a softer and radiant skin.
How to Make:
Step 1: Take 1 tablespoon each of rice flour and oats powder and add 1 teaspoon full each of almond powder and milk powder to it. If you do not have powder already, then grind the ingredients in a mixture till you have fine texture.
Step 2: Mix them very well and store in an airtight container.
How to Use:
Step 1: Take appropriate amount of prepared mixture on palm and add honey, rose water, aloe vera juice or normal water to make a smooth paste. I usually use an appropriate amount of normal water.
Step 2: Apply it all over the damp face and neck and gently massage in circular motions. Leave on for a minute.
Step 3: Rinse it off with lukewarm to normal water and follow up with your regular skin care regimen.
All the ingredients present in the cleanser works effectively to deep cleanse the skin and provide nourishment at the same time. Rice, oats, milk and almond are also wonderful exfoliants that help in sloughing off the dead skin cells to reveal brighter and youthful skin. The cleanser is perfect for daily use and makes the skin more vibrant with improved texture. The ingredients also help in balancing the skin oil. If you have dry skin, the cleanser will moisturize it, while for oily skin, it will keep the excess oil production in check.
Make sure to grind the ingredients till you have fine texture otherwise, the coarse texture may irritate the skin.
