Today I am going to review an EOS lip balm. I wanted to try out this lip balm for a long time, but either it wasn’t easily available in India, or was way too expensive online. So, I grabbed four of these when I landed here in Canada. Today I am going to review the ‘Sweet Mint’ variant.
Price: $3.29 for 4.7g
Shelf Life: 36 months after the opening
Product Description: Smooth on the refreshing essence of sweet mint lip balm and give your lips the moisture they crave.
Key Ingredients: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D’abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract*, Tocopherol, Limonene**, Linalool**.
**Component of Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*.
Packaging: I wanted to have this lip balm when I saw many YouTubers going gaga over it. I was so impressed by the unique egg-shaped packaging. It looked so tempting and adorable to me. I got a combo of 4 lip balms – all stacked up neatly in separate den with names of flavours printed below each lip balm. Sweet Mint is a very light pastel blue coloured sphere with EOS embossed on top and bottom. The two halves needs to be twisted to open the dome shaped balm inside.
My Take on EOS Sweet Mint Smooth Sphere Lip Balm:
When I first applied sweet mint, I got a sensation of chewing some cool mint mouth freshener. Of course, it is very minty and kind of little sweet. It gives a cooling and refreshing feel when applied. The cool tingly sensation lasts for quite some time. It smells like mint too! Overall, it has a very different smell and taste from all the other lip balms I have used so far. The sphere glides smoothly when applied over lips.
The lip balm stays on the lips for quite a long period if left undisturbed; I have the tendency of touching my lips a lot when a lip balm is applied though. I know it sounds stupid! Also, I face the issue of chapped lips throughout the year: be it summer or winter. Therefore, I always have lip balms with me wherever I am travelling. Many times I just carry a lip balm stick in my pocket when I am not carrying any purse. This one is definitely not made for jeans pocket. Therefore, I like to carry Maybelline Baby Lips more often.
I like the moisturizing strength of sweet mint particularly among all the four balms I have got. Lips are layered with a nice transparent coat of balm just with one stroke, without feeling greasy or sticky. What I wonder here is how to apply it when the dome gets flattened. I guess that would be a little awkward, and I would have to use my fingers like normal tub balms.
Pros of EOS Sweet Mint Smooth Sphere Lip Balm:
• Natural and organic
• Gluten and paraben free
• Moisturises well
• Lasts long
• Cute packaging
• Very soothing
Cons of EOS Sweet Mint Smooth Sphere Lip Balm:
• Availability in India
• A little bulky for travelling (if compared to stick balms)
• Application when dome gets flattened is a bit awkward
IMBB Rating: 4.5/5
