Etude House Moistfull Collagen Firming Eye Cream Review

Ola bonita chica’s!

I think the one thing that I wish I could change about my face would be my under eyes. They are definitely the thing I am most conscious about on my face and I am constantly looking for products to fix them. Every time I look in the mirror I start assessing the situation with my under eyes and freaking out about fine lines is something I have nightmares about. Even the expression lines I have right now around my eyes are something I want to fix so I am always looking for a product to do the same. After using another collagen product from Etude House I bought this eye cream from the Moistfull line to try and help my under eyes. Let me tell you more about it!

Product description
This eye cream came in an orange cardboard box that I have long since discarded. You can also tell from the pictures that there is a crack on the lid and I have dropped this so many times that I have lost count but this jar has not broken on me despite all the abuse I have put it through. This is a glass container but it has not cracked after me having dropped it repeatedly, trust me each time it fell I would run to assess the damage and it is impressive that I have only managed to chip the plastic lid till now. Also the glass is not very heavy so this is a light product to carry and is very travel friendly.

Product claims
Contains Baobab Tree extract and Collagen.
This eye cream contains 5% marine collagen and I have explained more about the ingredients in here in my Moistfull Lotion review (also a Etude House product from the same line). Baobab is a tree seen in Saharan deserts and it has the capacity to retain a lot of water. This extract claims to have the same ‘hydrating’ properties.

My experience with the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Firming Eye Cream:

This is the 8th month of use for me of this Korean eye cream. I am literally using more product than needed at the moment because I just want this to finish! A little bit goes such a long way and I have got my husband using it as well before bed time just to finish the darn tub. I do not stick my fingers into thins however and do not recommend you do the same due to hygiene reasons. Just use a small spatula or a q-tip to get the product out and just dot it along your eyes before patting it in with your ring finger.

This eye cream does not have any funny smells to it but just has a slight lingering fragrance of smoky tangerines. The scent is very light and pleasant and disappears soon after application. You need very little to apply on your eye lids all the way to brow bone, the side of your nose and your under eyes. The consistency of this is very thick and smooth. This eye cream is extremely hydrating! It takes a while to pat all of it into your eye area due to its thickness and it takes three to four minutes to fully absorb into your skin. Even then the eye area does feel a little sticky like the product has not fully settled into your skin. The one thing this eye cream does really well is moisturize and hydrate the eye area. No complaints there!

However there is no SPF in this eye cream leaving my eye area unprotected. Also it does not really do anything for dark circles. So it is annoying to use two different eye creams to get the desired results so I guess this is a product I would recommend for someone with no dark circles. It is difficult to apply eye makeup after using this cream. You need to wait at least ten to fifteen minutes before using primer and/or shadow else you will end up with creasy eyes.

The collagen in this eye cream is the best this that this product has got going for it. This is the one ingredient that causes the vague scent that I can see some people being put off by and it makes the consistency of the cream thick and goopy but it sure does work! It covers all fine lines and expression lines almost instantly and leaves your eyes and the thin under eye skin feeling supple and plump. This is one of the main reasons I have repurchased this eye cream in the last few years and even though it does not tick all my boxes I know that I can always let my husband use it because it does wonders for him too. Especially when I am working long nights and I know I will have dark circles which is when I need to swap products as this does nothing for me in that department!

Pros of the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Firming Eye Cream:

  • Very hydrating
  • Really well moisturizing
  • Mild fragrance
  • Combats fine lines and wrinkles around eye
  • Very little goes a long way

Cons of the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Firming Eye Cream:

  • Contains no SPF
  • Does not fix dark circles
  • Scent could be irritating to some
  • Does not absorb quickly
  • Will make eye area sticky till it is absorbed fully

Would I repurchase Etude House Moistfull Collagen Firming Eye Cream?
I will probably keep repurchasing this because it is very good value for money. $18 (Singaporean dollars) for 25 ml of an anti wrinkle collagen cream that works is a pretty good deal.

Would I recommend Etude House Moistfull Collagen Firming Eye Cream?
Yes I will highly, but not if you are looking to fix dark circles. Also I would recommend using this product at night unless you are not going to wear any makeup during the day.
