The Faces lip balms retail in a transparent case with a screw type lid cover. The name Faces printed on the lip balm tub. I don’t prefer tub packaging for lip balms as they are messy and unhygienic but as I liked the sweet flavor, I don’t mind it.

My Take on Faces Lip Smoother in Mango Tango:

The lip balm in the tub appears as a pretty bright yellowish orange color, it looks very similar to fresh mangoes. When applied on the lips, it comes out very sheer and gives only a light tint of yellow colour to the lips. The fragrance of mangoes is quite strong and stays on the lips for about 10 to 15 minutes after application. The scent is not very natural but like the flavored mango candies. If you don’t like very sweet scent smell, you can skip this lip balm. The lip balm hydrates and moisturizes lips really well.

The texture of the lip balm is very soft and smooth. It glides easily on the lips and instantly makes it soft. It is not too greasy or sticky. The lip balm once applied on the lips has a slight sheen, not very glossy or shiny. It just stays for sometime after application and then fades away. The formula does moisturize lips really well. People with excessively dry and chapped lips might not find it enough hydrating and satisfying. It stays on for an hour and then goes away, but my lips feel softer even after it fades away. As the formula of the lip balm has a slight sheen, you should apply and remove it off later with a tissue paper before applying your lipsticks, as direct application of a lipstick over this lip balm will make it fade and crease faster.

The amount of hydration provided by this lip balm is good and decent, but again considering the price, I will prefer my favorites the Maybelline baby lips or the Nivea ones. Definitely, these are more hydrating and buttery than this one. As I got bored and wanted to try a new one, I went for this one.

Pros of Faces Lip Smoother in Mango Tango:

  • It contains some natural ingredients.
  • The formula is non-tinted, so you can easily use it before applying your lipsticks.
  • Lightweight and non greasy.
  • It doesn’t feel sticky on lips.
  • Hydrates and moisturizes well.
  • It does not sting and softens lips.
  • Lasts on me for about 1- 1 and half hours and later leaves lips soft.
  • Affordable.

Cons of Faces Lip Smoother in Mango Tango:

  • Hygiene is a big issue with tub based packaging.
  • It will not work for severe dry and chapped lips.
  • It doesn’t contain SPF.
  • Some may find the mango flavored fragrance strong and artificial. It might be a pro or con as fragrance totally depends on ones preference. There were testers at the counter so you could easily smell it before buying it.

IMBB Rating:

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Faces Lip Smoother in Mango Tango?

No, I will not repurchase this again. I will go back to my favorites. I recommend it to you only if you like the flavored lip balms. Overall, I think it is a good decent lip balm, as I am comparing it with my favorites, I couldn’t give it much love.
