NYX Tango with Bronzing Powder – When Leopard Gets a Tan Review

Hello beautiful ladies,

Today, I will be reviewing a bronzing powder from NYX. I have lots of NYX products and this is one of my favorites and the reason for that are the name and the packaging. Like all NYX products, the quality of this bronzing powder is amazing too, but I am crazy about the way it looks, and it’s the cutest name I have ever come across. NYX Tango with Bronzing Powder comes in 5 different variants and all of them are priced same. Some are more on the bronzier side and some are more on the blush side.  “When Leopard Gets a Tan” is in between a bronzer and a blush.

Product Quantity:

Rs. 1200 for 11.5 gm

This product comes in a golden color box which contains a round brown colored product. The product itself have 2 compartments, the first compartment contains the powder whereas the second compartment contains a brush to apply the powder. The lid of the bronzing powder contains a good-sized round mirror which really comes in handy while applying the product.

It takes two to tango but just one of our brilliant bronzing powders to kick start your look. Our mosaic bronzer shades create a golden glow on the face and body, like you have just returned from a Caribbean getaway. Sun-kissed never looked this sexy or healthy.

My Take on NYX Tango with Bronzing Powder – When Leopard Gets a Tan:

Color:  When Leopard Gets a Tan is actually a mixture of 3 different colors which are present in a random manner in the pan. The first color is a pearly finish pink which contains very minute sized silver shimmer particles.  The second color is a peachy cream color and the third and the darkest of these – is a brown.  Both peach and brown colors have minute-sized golden shimmer particles in it. Basically all the three colors have shimmers but these shimmers do not make the product look too shiny or sparkly on the face. It actually helps to give a nice beautiful shine to the cheeks. To use the product, the brush has to be swirled across the complete product as the colors are placed such that no single color can be used.

Pigmentation:  Pigmentation of the product is good, it’s not a very highly-pigmented color, but is a product whose pigmentation can be built according to the requirement. The product does not look overdone even if multiple swipes are applied. This is a kind of color that would look good with comparatively fair skin tones; the color is a little light for darker skin tone ladies and so might not show up on them.

Texture: Texture wise, the product is satiny smooth to apply. It easily gets on the brush without much fallout and blends amazingly on the cheeks.

Staying Power: In terms of staying power too, this product is average, but the staying power too can be improved by applying multiple layers of product. If applied with a light hand (one or two layers), the product stays for just around 2 hours, but if multiple layers are applied, the staying power can increase to up to 4-5 hours depending on the amount of product applied. If case of multiple layers, the color does stay for a decent time, but it starts fading after 1-2 hours.

Brush:  As I mentioned earlier, the product comes with a brush, which is decently sized in terms of bristles, but I personally do not find it very comfortable to use due to its small handle. The bristles of the brush are not very soft, but they are not very harsh too. I wasn’t very impressed with the brush as whenever I tried to use it, a lot of bristles were broken. Overall, it is a very average kind of a brush which can only be used in case of emergencies.

Pros of NYX Tango with Bronzing Powder – When Leopard Gets a Tan:

  • A combination of 3 beautiful colors.
  • It’s a product in between a bronzer and a blush and is great for everyday use, despite the shimmer.
  • Buildable color which does not look overdone even with multiple swipes.
  • Smooth to apply and easy to blend.
  • Comes with a full size mirror.
  • Very cute name and packaging, the product itself looks extremely cute too.
  • I was surprised to see this, but unlike majority of NYX products, this one does not contain parabens.

Cons of NYX Tango with Bronzing Powder – When Leopard Gets a Tan:

  • A little pricey, but if compared to the quantity, its okay.
  • The color will not show up on darker skin tones.
  • Comes with a brush, which is of no use.
  • Not so amazing staying power, especially if applied lightly.

Would I Repurchase NYX Tango with Bronzing Powder – When Leopard Gets a Tan?

At this price I would not, but if I get a chance to go out of India, then I would love to try the shade “Tan Enthusiasm.”

Do I Recommend NYX Tango with Bronzing Powder – When Leopard Gets a Tan?

Again at this price, I would not recommend it, until you are crazy about the way it looks (like me), or until you get a real good discount on this. In these circumstances, you must try this.
