A few days back, I had reviewed the Forest Essentials Face Mist with Jasmine. I had got this body wash from Forest Essentials around the same time since my L’Occitane Roses 4 Reins Body Wash was nearing completion. Again, I was fascinated by the word “jasmine.” Please read on further to find out how it fared on my expectations.
Product Being Reviewed:
Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash Madurai Jasmine and Mogra.
These gentle washes have active ingredients to cleanse and exfoliate for silken and smooth skin. Among their purely natural ingredients are valuable rice protein oil and regenerative rice bran. The blend of real essential oils make these shower washes aroma therapeutic. Scented soft skin polished sheen. The tantalizing heady fragrance of jasmine and mogra flowers leaves the skin wonderfully fresh and gleaming.
Price/ Packaging/ Quantity:
INR 675 for 200 ml. It comes in a sleek, long, plastic, transparent bottle. The plastic is sturdy and it has a stopper at the top. It has a screw type golden coloured cap. The golden is now coming off due to its exposure to water. Nothing fancy about the packaging, it is a simple practical bottle which I feel is just right.
Aloe Vera water 12%, Gokharu 7%, Olive Oil Derivatives 5%, Bamboo Extract 3.5%, Genhu Extract 3%, Virhi Extract 2.5%,Coconut Oil Derivatives 2.5%, Sonapatha 2%, Bala 2%, Jasmine Sambac Absolute 2%, Mogra Essential Oil 0.5%, Imidazolidinyl Urea ( Paraben free) 0.5%, Base QS.
My Experience with Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash with Madurai Jasmine and Mogra:
It is a transparent shower gel which is not too runny, the consistency is on the thicker side. I expected it to smell highly of jasmine because the name mentions “mogra” and jasmine, but again I was disappointed. It smells very faintly of jasmine flower and the smell goes away while taking the bath only, not a long lasting fragrant shower gel! It lathers moderately with a loofah and does not lather at all without one. I would recommend the usage of loofah with this shower gel.
It did make my skin soft and squeaky clean, but I could not skip my moisturiser. I had to apply moisturiser post shower, though not as a liberally as required after bathing with a soap, but still the usage of a moisturiser can’t be ruled out. All in all, I found it to be an average product from Forest Essentials.
Summing the pros and cons:
Pros of Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash with Madurai Jasmine and Mogra:
- Does not feel heavy on the skin.
- Has the faint smell of jasmine flower.
- Simple, practical packaging.
- Against animal testing, no cruelty against the innocent creatures.
- Does not have parabens.
Cons of Forest Essentials Silkening Shower Wash with Madurai Jasmine and Mogra:
- Does not lather at all without a loofah. So, having one is a necessity when you buy this shower gel.
- Claims to have scrubbing ingredients that exfoliate the skin, but nothing of that sort happened. Could not feel the presence of scrubbing particles.
- Moisturiser needs to applied post bath, does not keep the skin soft for long.
