My quest for finding a perfect sun product never ends. I am an avid user of after-sun products and I usually pick them often. I was using Lakme Sun Gel for quite some time before I switched to others as they weren’t easily available outside India. Since the beach season has officially arrived, I picked up few sunscreens and after-sun products. Today’s review is all about Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun Soothing Hydrating Lotion. Unlike your normal moisturiser, this soothing, hydrating lotion is specially developed to soothe and nourish skin that feels dehydrated after sun exposure.  How does it work? My Experience with Garnier Ambre Solaire After Sun Soothing Hydrating Lotion:

The product comes in a light blue plastic bottle with a white cap. The design is similar to other products from this range. The cap has a flap that eases in getting the product out. The product comes unsealed. There is all the necessary information on the bottle. Considering the quantity of the product, it might not be a perfect product to travel with. However, there are smaller variants available and you can pick one of those. Overall, the package is pretty okay. There are two sizes available, 400 ml which is a family size and then 200 ml. Since there was very little difference in price between them, I decided to go for the bigger one. The size is great when you go on a family beach vacation.   The lotion is white in color and has a semi-thick consistency. It is not like the traditional lotions and has a thinner consistency. However it is creamy and easy to apply. The product is also very lightweight. It smells very fresh and mild. The smell doesn’t stay for long and fades away very quickly.

The lotion is thin and gets absorbed onto the skin very fast and doesn’t leave any greasy residue. It provides a very matte finish. The product is not a tan remover. The main role of After Sun lotion is to soothe irritated or sunburnt skin. The lotion has cooling properties and it calms your skin after you have been out in the sun. It doesn’t cause any irritation and is suitable for all skin types.

Even though it is not your everyday lotion, it provides intense moisturization to the skin. It nourishes the skin for more than 8 hours making the skin soft and supple. The presence of aloe vera does a lot of good if you have burns. The lotion also fills in the moisture needed by the skin after a busy sunny day. This product heals sunburnt skin. It soothes skin and makes sure that there is minimum damage. The product is also a great option to be used after waxing or epilating. It soothes the skin and makes sure there is no irritation. I have nothing negative to write about this product except that it contains parabens. It delivers what it promises.
