If you happen to come across my first review on IMBB which was on jovees anti acne clove face pack, you’ll come to know how this brand has been a repeated failure for me! So how come did I opened my heart to try it out again? Well because this time it’s a gift! There’s an MR who used to work with Himalaya previously and used to come for marketing their Hiora dental solution products. Back then, instead of pen stands etc she got me Himalaya products as free gifts :P. now that she has joined some other pharma company who is also marketing the jovees brand in our city, she got me two of its products, one of which is their signature kajal.

PRICE: Rs. 135 for 3 gm.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Extra Smooth, Nourishing & Conditioning Eye Definer with Almond Oil.

Signature Kajal has been formulated using natural herbal and plant extracts. This signature Kajal will relax and soothes your eyes, it will encourage growth of eyelashes, it shall help to maintain and improve vision. This signature Kajal is water/smudge proof under normal conditions.

Instead of writing a full paragraph, I’ll just sum up the pros and cons.

Pros of Jovees Signature Kajal:

• It’s a good black! Quite like the way kohl lovers demand
• Affordable
• The ingredients are all natural and herbal
• It didn’t irritate my eyes with lenses on.

• Stays on for a good amount of time unless you try to rub it off.
• Waterproof (of course with limitations, as the product description says.)
• Easy availability. I saw it in a few cosmetic shops recently, though not available on frequently used shopping sites yet.

Cons of Jovees Signature Kajal:

• Thick pencil kajal. These days when we’re getting thin retractable kajals like colossal and eyeconic in the same price range, why would any one prefer these! Atleast I don’t have this wide sharpener… I don’t know how will I sharpen it! using a blade is a total NO for me!

• Owing to the wide tip, I have precision issues with the kajal (it’s quite evident in the pic which was taken just after application)

• Half an hour post application, the kajal faded and smudged a little. I won’t say too much, but yes it did!

• I don’t really like the packaging… the aluminium cap and lower part gives it a sort of cheap look.

• The cap doesn’t fits snugly, on applying more than required pressure the tip of kajal will collide with the end of cap. As you can see in the pic, it did happen to me! a click closing or conical cap would have been better.

WILL I RECOMMEND? Yes if you’re fine with wide tip kajal, also if you prefer herbal ones.

WILL I BUY IT AGAIN? NO… i prefer retractable or thin pencil kajals. Revlon colorstay and colossal are my staple kajals and I think I’ll stick to them forever.
