Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo Review

I, honestly, do not have much to say about this shampoo. My experience with Kiehl’s hair care products has not been good earlier; I was not expecting much from this shampoo either. Keep reading to find out if this one turned out to be a pleasant surprise for me…or a shock!

My Experience with Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo:

It comes in a nice sturdy plastic bottle. It is transparent and has a flip top cap. It is easy to take the desired amount of product out, and easy to see how much is left too. It is a nice, travel-friendly packaging. In fact all the product details are printed on the sticker. No complaints with the packaging – simple and sturdy.

If you are a lover of coconut fragrance like me, you are going to love it. It smells sweetly of coconuts – kind of a coconut candy that I used to love in my childhood. The shampoo is also transparent and gets easily diluted with water. But you need to take A LOT of product at once to create the desired amount of lather. Like, four times of what I would usually require. This pisses me off big time. Since it is an expensive shampoo and it ends up getting over too soon, I don’t think anyone would appreciate this property.

Even if I ignore this, the shampoo does not really do anything special to hair. It does not even cleanse dirty or oily hair well. In addition to this, it dries out my hair; so much dry that even a good conditioner cannot tame or moisturise them. Isn’t it sad? As I said, I was anyway not expecting much from this shampoo. I find this shampoo highly overpriced. Just don’t get it, it’s a very average shampoo! I now use it to wash my makeup brushes.

Pros of Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo:

• Packaging – sturdy, transparent, travel-friendly
• Fragrance – smells amazing of coconuts
• Contains pure coconut oil
• Super gentle
• Adds a little bounce to hair

Cons of Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo:

• Overpriced

• Way too mild to cleanse oily scalp/hair
