L.A. Girl Blessed Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick Review

Hello sweethearts,

Don’t we all love using matte lipsticks since they provide a classy finish and are super long-lasting? I have always been into bright and bold ones, so I thought of trying some subtle ones this time and I picked this shade called “Blessed”. See how this worked for me.

My Experience with L.A. Girl Blessed Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick:

The lipstick comes in a basic black packaging with “matte” written over it. The bottom of the lipstick is colour-coded which makes it easy to spot the shade. The entire range has a huge variety of shades to choose from, ranging from bolds to neutrals. The price range is good but we also have many more good matte ranges at this price. The lipstick closes with a click and is very handy as well.

“Blessed” is a bright coral pink shade which has a neon touch to it. It is a bright and bold shade which is apt for summers to pair up with cute floral dresses. It is a mixture of coral and pink, which makes this cute shade. The shade has a neon touch, so it may not use dusky skin tones. I pretty much like the shade but I will use it occasionally. It creates a cute pop which looks very trendy. I was expecting it to be a neutral shade but it turned out to be bolder than expected.

Texture, pigmentation and finish:
The texture is super smooth and glides nicely on my lips. But it does cling to the dry patches initially which makes it more visible since it is a bold shade. It also settles into the fine lines. The pigmentation is good and appears in 1-2 swipes itself. The finish is a classy matte one with a sheen.

Staying power:
The staying power is average of 4-5 hours. The colour stays as it is if I do not eat anything, but the moment I eat, the colour from the centre of the lips gets ripped off and reapplication is needed.

Pros of L.A. Girl Blessed Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick:

⦁ Colour-coded packaging
⦁ A variety of shades to choose
⦁ Smooth texture
⦁ Refreshing coral pink shade, apt for summers
⦁ Does not dry out the lips
⦁ Nice, matte finish
⦁ Lasts for 4-5 hours
⦁ Not tested on animals

Cons of L.A. Girl Blessed Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick:

⦁ Average matte range
⦁ Clings to dry patches initially
⦁ Settles into the fine lines
⦁ Not suitable for medium to dusky skin tones

IMBB Rating: 3.8/5
Will I Repurchase/Recommend L.A. Girl Blessed Matte Flat Velvet Lipstick?
No, I wouldn’t! I have tried far better lipsticks than this one. I like how cute the shade is, but I wouldn’t grab it again.
Conclusion: I think trying brighter shades would have been better.
