Lacto Calamine Aloe Moisturiser Review

Hello IMBBians.. ๐Ÿ™‚

We all have been using lots of products everyday but reviewing them is something different. It’s like the post mortem of the product. In today’s post I analyzed LACTO CALAMINE SKINSURANCE ALOE MOISTURISER for dry to normal skin.

Price- Rs 58 for 60 ml (lacto calamine moisturizing facewash in yoghurt worth Rs 52 is also free with this.)

Shelf life โ€“ 5 years

Here is what the product say-

Daily use formula with Kaolin and special moisturizers.
Discover skinsurance for dry skin.
1. Moisturization
2. Protection
3. Dead skin removal
4. Acne control

My take on Lacto Calamine Aloe Moisturiser

One fine day when I was sipping my coffee in the college canteen, my friend told me that my face is looking dull and lifeless. I started cursing my coffee since I am a hardcore hot beverage drinker and heard somewhere that they tend to make your skin darker. I came in senses when she said that I should look up to my acne marks. On that day itself I bought this lotion to remove my acne leftover marks on the face otherwise i was very happy and satisfied with Lotus herbals sheamoist. I thought to try this after reading somewhere on the blog only that lacto calamine can remove those acne marks.

Anyways letโ€™s talk about the about the effectiveness of the product. I washed my face with Lacto Calamine yoghurt facewash (which came free with the lotion) and then applied this as a followup mosituriser.. Itโ€™s in a bottle form and has a very runny consistency. The color is somewhat between purple and peach. It did the moisturizing part very well. My skin was indeed silky soft and smooth after application and remained the same all day long even after washing the face several times.

Pros of Lacto Calamine Aloe Moisturiser

1. It did the moisturizing part very well as claimed.
2. Very economical since you need a very small quantity on each application. So one bottle of it is going to last you for a good time.
3. It didn’t gave any whitish appearance on my face.
4. My face stayed moisturized all day along and even when I washed my face.
5. It did make my skin silky smooth and soft.
6. Time saving since it gets absorbed within seconds.
7. Easily available. From departmental stores to chemists to local shops, you will find it easily.
8. Cheap compared to other good lotions in the market.
9. Smell is also fascinating and itโ€™s like Johnson baby lotion. ๐Ÿ˜›

Cons of Lacto Calamine Aloe Moisturiser

1. The biggest and the foremost dislike is the PACKAGING. It comes in a bottle form and itโ€™s also instructed at the backside of the bottle to shake it well before using. Imagine shaking a bottle full of diluted lotion and then opening it. First of all the lotion will be messed up to the inner top of the cap and from that mess you have to take out little amount of lotion. So that implies you have to transfer it to a convenient bottle for the use. I poured it to a spare bottle. โ˜บ
2. I specially bought this to remove my acne marks but on the contrary it didnโ€™t helped me in this regard. Itโ€™s just an another common everyday lotion for me.
3. I donโ€™t why but I felt some tightening effect on my face like if you feel when you do a facial. It irritated me to some point.

Final verdict :-
I canโ€™t highly recommend this to anyone. Itโ€™s like an another moisturizing lotion in the market. So, if you want to get some change in your skin care regime, then you can try this.

The only time I have used lacto calamine is to use in some home made packs. I guess I’ll pick it again for the same reason. Totally agree about the packaging part . The big mouth does not help at all. :((

This is my HG !! N I soo lovee it..rupam it wont help ur marks..but it surely surely helps in controlling acne and keepin skin oil free….it has lots n lots of uses…

rupam May 25, 2011 at 11:18 am

my skin is not oily.. it leaves the skin t soft and moisturized
wat other uses it has?

Bhagyasree May 24, 2011 at 9:07 pm

I agree with bhumikaa!! I have used this since I was a little kid. Once I played in sand and got rashes on my hands and the doctor told my mother to apply this on my hands. But I like the regular one better than the aloe moisture one ๐Ÿ™‚ It keeps my skin oil free, the regular one. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

rupam May 25, 2011 at 11:19 am

hey rupam! I use the regular one.. For normal to oily skin.. N i LOVE it! It keeps my skin hydrated.. Controls oiliness.. N prevents acne.. In fact it does fade away the ugly acne marks.. But very slowly..

rupam May 25, 2011 at 11:22 am

ohhhh that means i hv to wait and watch :silly:

Shai May 25, 2011 at 12:09 pm

Yea it does fade away marks.. as kids we used it to fade away chicken pox marks. pretty effective though it does take a little time.

Tapaswini Swain May 24, 2011 at 9:37 pm

Packaging is indeed bad, but very good for moisturising hands , acts as a good sunscreen, fragrance is total turn off for me !

rupam May 25, 2011 at 11:23 am

this one dont smells that bad

Shivani May 24, 2011 at 9:55 pm

Kanchan, i’m not sure, but u can use calasoft, which is very much similar to this, with calamine as main ingredient. This was prescribed for my 1 yr old son..

Samantha January 14, 2013 at 5:31 am

Where can I buy this from?
I live in australia and I am in love with it but I can’t find it any where.
Please let me know.

Preeti May 15, 2013 at 6:14 pm

My aunt uses the oily skin variant and she’s been using the same moisturizer for more than 25+ years now. She is 50+ and people think she is in her early 40s. She uses no sunscreen though she travels, works and is out almost all day. She doesn’t tan a bit when she uses this. Its indeed a good moisturizer.
