Lakme Glide On Eye Color: Shimmer Green Review
Like I said, I picked up one of these new Glide On Eye Colors from Lakme. I don’t know how new they are and I also learnt that they don’t have “Absolute” on them. Nevertheless, I saw the four new pencils which seemed quite smooth and soft and glided on well. The shades though were nothing that I hadn’t seen before. So, when I picked up the Lakme Absolute Makeup Remover, I also picked up the shade “Shimmer Green.”
The name reminds me of our favourite Colorbar I-glide pencils, but I think they are better than these. These pencils are very soft and creamy. These claim to be smudge proof, obviously after setting for say 30 seconds. I tried to smudge it at the counter as soon as it was applied and then tried after it set. It does not smudge with slight force after setting, but if you rub hard, it does. So, I can’t compare this to the Chambor Dazzle Pencil.
The color is a pretty forest green with loads of gold shimmer. I chose this one over Vivid Blue and Aquamarine, particularly Aquamarine because the bright metallic blue does nothing for my eyes. So, I prefer khakis and greens and, may be a little shimmer. Hence, I picked this green which looked very wearable and the gold in it was beautiful.
The shade stayed on me without smudging for two hours unfortunately. I have oily lids plus I stay in a humid area, so the color transferred after melting, on to the crease, something that I absolutely hate. I had not worn any kind of powder on the lid, so I knew this would happen, but by the end of three hours on Sunday, the color had faded and transferred on to the crease 🙁
The teal blue is my next favourite. Its matte blue, Aquamarine is a metallic bright blue, the Vivid Blue is a lighter prettier blue. I don’t know if I am mistaking the names of teal and vivid , I apologise if I am doing that.
Last Word:
Though the color is pretty and does not smudge; on my oily lids and humid climate, it smudged easily after 3 hours. But I think this would be great for dry lids as it does not smudge in that case for sure. For me, it failed the smudge test. Nevertheless, I love the color. The packing has also got better, a nice matte black and silver as opposed to the gold one on the last Glide On Eye Color. Even the Chambor one would smudge on me after say 4 to 5 hours, so I think this one is not a bad product for non oily lids.

I am not a big fan of these color pencils but the way you have defines your eyes is simply stunning. I wish I could get those sturdy hands 🙁
