At first glance, we all probably recognize the Lancome Grandiose mascara with its iconic packaging and the bent wand. Recently, Lancome came out with a different variant of this cult favorite mascara. Read on to know more about Lancôme Grandiose Extreme Wide-Angle Extreme Volume Mascara.

My Experience with Lancome Grandiose Extreme Wide-Angle Extreme Volume Mascara:
Packaging: I adore the packaging of this mascara and it was a matter of time before I added it to my collection. It features an all-over matte black tube with a 3d flower on the cap. It loos like a piece of art sitting on your vanity.
Application: The wand is a bent swan neck wand which is one of a kind. I was quite skeptic to use this as I have never used a wand like this before, but surprisingly, found this to be the most comfortable wand I have used this date. It has a comfortable grip and you can use this to coat even your most inner most lashes with ease. Also, it works fantastic for the lower lashes.
Formula: To help you better understand – there are two variants of mascara formulas – wet and dry. The wet formula is suited more for this with naturally longer, thicker lashes as it coats evenly and makes them stand out , look longer and perfect for a natural look but it also tends to clump the lashes together if you apply multiple coats. Drier formula on the other hand is more suitable if you have short stubby lashes. It builds well on itself and gives a volumizing appearance. It also holds the curl well.
This mascara has more of a wet formula. While its jet black color does make my lashes stand out it doesn’t deliver the wide angle extreme volume it promises. I find my lashes tend to clump together if I apply multiple coats. It looks best with 1-2 coats and it makes my lashes look longer and fluttery,
On the plus side, I find that this mascara never ever flakes or smudges. Once it’s on, it’s basically budge proof. Only an oil-based makeup remover will take it off at the end of the day. It is also quite water resistant and will not run if you were caught in an unexpected rain shower.
I have used this mascara in all 3 eotds.
Overall, I am not very impressed with this mascara. While it is good for an everyday, naturally-defined lash look, it does not give that “va va boom” effect which I excepted from it. I will not repurchase this mascara.

Cons of Lancome Grandiose Extreme Wide-Angle Extreme Volume Mascara:
- Only an oil-based remover is able to take this off.
- Does not deliver on volume, tends to make my lashes clump together if applied more than 1-2 coats.
- Does not separate lashes.
