SOS Organics Vanilla Lip Balm

SOS Organics Vanilla Lip Balm

Hi Beauties, last fortnight, I had done some online shopping with craftsvilla.com. I had even shared my online shopping experience. I got a few candles, soaps and lip balm. A few people had asked me to review the things, so I shall be doing them one by one.

Today, I am going to review their lip balm. Although, I have used Lotus lip balm always, but this time, I wanted to give a try to some other brand also as I was a little bored, so I went ahead and picked this up online. Let’s take a look at it.

Product Being Reviewed:

SOS Organics Vanilla Lip Balm.

Price/Quantity/ Packaging:
INR 85 for 12gms. It comes a jar type packaging and has a black screw cap. Once the cap is opened, it again has a white-coloured shield lid. I haven’t seen this in many lip balms, so I was happy with the extra protection. Once this lid is lift, there is cream coloured balm stored in the transparent tub. The black cap does not screw smoothly, there are rough edges which make it difficult to put the cap on to the jar.

Ingredients:

Apricot Oil, Bees Wax and Essential oils.

Shelf Life: 2 years from the date of manufacturing.

My Take on SOS Organics Vanilla Lip Balm:

I have already described the packaging above. Except for the white lid, I am not too impressed with the packaging as jar types are unhygienic . It is a dark cream-coloured balm, which has wax-like texture though not sticky or thick. The balm has to be scrapped and completely melts on the lips while application. It gives a nice shine to the lips, since it is not thick, so does not moisturise my lips as the Lotus one ( my HG lip balm). I tried this lip balm at night, but in the morning, I did not find any extraordinary results.

It does stay on the lips for 2-3 hours with eating and munching in between, that is the best part of this balm. Now, moving on to its fragrance, the name says it is vanilla, but it smells strongly of some medicated tree bark, yes I could actually think of a tree bark when I smelled it. The fragrance (not the taste) is bitter, but the silver lining is that it dissipates within 4-5 minutes.

Pros of SOS Organics Vanilla Lip Balm:

1. This lip balm has been made by the local artisans, it’s good to promote their work.
2. It does stay for 2-3 hours with eating in between.
3. It is not tested on animals, no cruelty towards the innocent creatures.

Cons of SOS Organics Vanilla Lip Balm:

1. The fragrance and the fragrance and the fragrance, BIG turn off.
2. The packaging could be improved, firstly jar type packaging is unhygienic and secondly, the cap does not get put easily owing to the harsh edges.
3. Does not moisturise the lips as well as others (read Lotus Strawberry Lip balm) in the same price category.
4. Not available in the market, has to be ordered online.

Will I Buy Again? No, I will not. Had the fragrance been good, I would have still thought of.

IMBB Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

  1. :yuck: :yuck: Tree Bark?! :puppy: :puppy: (get it…bark?)
No temptation here folks! :nono: :thanks: for the review! I’ll avoid this now. O:)

  2. the dibbi is so cute naa…. even I bought 2 lip balms and they contain lemon grass- they killed me almost- burnt so bad I was in tears :((

  3. Hi
Horrid lip balm experience I see. You can try Nirvaahas Bee salve lip balm if you like natural things. Though the problem of fragrance is the same.
If you want good fragrance and you are a digger for natural things, then try soultree lip balms (they have 2 different ones) or rustic arts range of lip balms.
