Lush Sleepy Body Lotion Review

Product Description:
Lush describes this product as a “dreamy body lotion.” As the name “Sleepy” itself suggests that it helps in achieving a good sleep soon after applying it.
Price:
AED 80.00 for 95 gm.

How To Use:
Use it only at night as a body lotion, right before you go to sleep.

My Experience with Lush Sleepy Body Lotion:

Packaging: It comes in a 100% recyclable black plastic tub. Lush has a policy, if you return 5 used tubs, you get a face mask free. Being an environmental-friendly brand, they prefer to reuse the tubs, and that’s a win-win situation for everyone ☺

Lush Sleepy Body Lotion tub

It’s a cute tub; however, I would always prefer a tube packaging as it’s travel friendly and hygienic. No applicator provided, need to use your fingers to scoop out the body lotion.

Texture:  The purple body lotion is rich, creamy, buttery body lotion. It feels silky soft on the skin.

Smell:  Divine is the perfect word that describes the strong lavender scent. If you are a fan of lavender like me, then you must try this once, it will drive you crazy. (I am smelling it as I write this review).

Ingredients:  “Sleepy” is a blend of 25 ingredients including oatmeal infusion and oils, primarily lavender oil. Other oils being almond oil, organic jojoba oil, and ylang ylang oil. It also contains glycerin, cocoa butter. The list is clearly mentioned on the tub in green and black color. Green represents natural ingredients while black are synthetic. Lavender is known for relaxation, reducing anxiety and inducing sleep. Oatmeal infusion has a huge list if benefits including soothing nerves, relief from itchy skin issues, stress related skin conditions. Ylang Ylang oil is an essential oil promotes relaxation, helps in fighting bacteria and lowering blood pressure.

After reading all the claims about this magical lotion, I had to visit the stores multiple times before getting my hands on this miracle product. It was always out of stock. I love sleeping (who doesn’t: p) but due to anxiety issues, I have disturbed nights usually, so I instantly purchased it after smelling the heavenly lavender.

I tried it the same day that I had picked it up and yes, I actually slept without waking up until my alarm went off. It’s been a month and yes “Sleepy” does make you sleepy. I now sleep uninterrupted whenever I use it. The cocoa butter also makes my skin soft. This body lotion has a rich texture which glides on the skin and instantly gets absorbed. It doesn’t leave any oiliness or greasiness feeling on the skin.

I have dry skin, especially my legs and after applying this, I do feel how wonderfully my skin is moisturized. The SA had instructed me clearly to use only during the night time. Although after a week, I applied it on alternate days so as not to get dependent on it. Lush even says it works on babies, which I am not very sure of.

Pros of Lush Sleepy Body Lotion:

  • Divine fragrance.
  • Rich and lavish texture of body lotion.
  • Doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
  • Helps in getting a peaceful sleep.
  • Only a little product is required for each application.
  • Environment-friendly packaging, not tested on animals.
  • Vegan product (if its applicable).

Cons of Lush Sleepy Body Lotion:

  • Not available in India, I had purchased from Dubai.
  • Expensive, but the small pot can go on for 3 months.
  • Contains perfume, which might be an issue for some.
  • Tub packaging is an issue while travelling and you need to dip your fingers every time.
  • You might get addicted to this like me :p
  • I love the strong spicy fragrance but some people might not, so try before buying it.
