The one I am reviewing is MAC Select Moisturecover Double End Concealer. It came with MAC Mickey Contractor Collection. MAC Select moisturecover

MAC Select moisturecover wands

One end of the tube is the coral corrector, which has peachy undertones and is mainly to conceal the blue/ green veins under the eyes. On the other end is the yellow corrector, which is to combat any redness on the face and to brighten up the under eye area.

The concealer comes with two doe foot applicators.

What I like about MAC Select Moisture Cover Concealer  (Double Ended)

  • I love the formula. It’s like THE concealer for under eyes. It’s so moisturizing and light for delicate under eye area. The concealer glides on your under eyes without any effort. You’ll never face any tugging with this concealer.
  • I like the dual concept of corrector and concealer in one compact tube. My under eye circles are never the same so I can adjust the colours of the concealer according to how my good or bad my dark circles on a particular day.
  • It looks amazingly natural. Yesterday especially, I applied only select moisture cover under my eyes and set my under eye area with powder . There was absolutely nothing else on my face and it looked just like the part of my skin. To check , I asked my hubby to figure out if I was wearing anything on my face , he couldn’t. 😛 Then I asked him to see my under eyes specifically and he took almost 10-15 seconds after good staring to figure out that there was something under my eyes. 😀 But he was so highly impressed as to how natural the concealer looks.
  • I can also use the yellow corrector for highlighting my features such as bridge of my nose, cheekbones etc.
  • I have not faced any slipping of concealer in this weather atleast but considering the smoothness of the concealer, this would definitely need a good setting powder  during summer time.
  • The concealer has medium to buildable coverage. It can become completely opaque depending on how you use it.
  • A full  value for money since you are getting two shades of concealer in one tube

What I don’t like about this concealer:

  • If not set with powder, it tends to crease. Especially for people who have oily skin, they need to take care that they powder their under eye area as to avoid concealer settling in your fine lines.
  • It is ot amazingly long wearing. After around 5 hours , I could see the the concealer had sort of lost its intensity and freshness.
  • I feel that it’s an excellent concealer for winter-autumn-spring time but might not be that great for summers. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer would fare better during summers.

Here is how I use MAC Select moisture Cover Concealer:

Moisturised bare eye.  I did this little tutorial first thing in morning because my under eye circles are the worst that time.

Bare Eye

With the dual concealer you have to sort of get used to how much coral and how much yellow would work best for you. After using the concealer 2-3 times you get an idea yourself. Although Mr Mickey Contactor suggested that you mix the two shades at the back of your hand, bring the resulting shade closer to your skin tone shade and them apply with a brush. I personally like to apply directly on my under eye are and then blend accordingly.

My under eye area needs more brightening than correcting. So I put two dots of coral corrector and three dots of the yellow corrector.

Dot select moisturecover

Blend both with finger

belndAfter blending, I put 2-3 dots of the yellow corrector just on the under eye line to diffuse it a little and bring light to my under eye area.

brightening

Blend that also and that’s it. I set it with powder and I am good to go. 🙂

Here is how the final under eye area looks. Once I powder it, it would mattify and set.

final

Overall I am loving the buttery smooth texture of the concealer. And I really really hope that this becomes a part of their permanent line. It’s one gem to have in your stash. Loving concealer like never before. 🙂

          1. Oh that..no poor Jomol – she is traumatized by that post….I would forgive her for it…:snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker:

                1. Only for you one again 😀

Jomol says ” you know poutmati once what happened……..on a diwali day not too long ago…..there was this fresh wet buffalo dung lying in front of my neighbour’s house….it was really a lot of buffalo dung…… :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: and I went and placed a laxmi bomb in that wet pile and lit it………..and all the poop was like flying in the air and some of it landed on my hair too while I was running to hide. There was buffalo poop all over my hair and on my neigbhour;s compound wall also and the next morning she was shouting that somebody had wantedly smeared dung on her walls….I went and confessed that I had done it and she was not ready to believe me and she told…..no, I know some other person has done it and she was suspecting someone else….and I easily got away with it….thankfully nobody saw it……

moral of the story….poutmati ji….if you send me mountainful of :poop: :poop: :poop: :poop: I will light a sutli bomb in it

                  1. I get into fits of laughter every time I read this…The imagination itself is sooooo funnyyyyyyyyyyyy!! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

                    1. I am very scared of her 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 I think what we see of her on IMBB is like a tamed watered-down version of her pure evilness

        1. No i wanted to tell you about his concealer only . Sanjeev was totally confused and then he said “bahut sahi concealer hai” atleast 5 times after that. He was like in awe with it. 😛 I was so happy :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:

  2. Awesome review Rati..and very niceeeeeeee tutorial…!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 This is gonna help many people who bought this concealer but have been struggling to get the right shade without wasting too much!! 🙂 🙂

    1. Thankoo cali. Actually I tried going by concept of how Mickey C taught but then came back with my regular way of applying concealers. It works for me this way. 😀

      1. i also do pat pat instead of mixing it together….that way i feel i get the feel of wht i need more and get it sorted out….i need to work more on it though…and u are right rati..it does not stay for more than 4-5 hrs…

        1. Same here priya. I can always put more or less depending on the coverage. I am using it mostly for small outings or regular days when I am just okay with absolutely nothing kinda feel on my face. But for longer days I am liking pro longwear more. :))

                  1. rati…. :spank: :spank: i meant only me and rads have the right to use concealer…not on fake dark circles :yelo: :yelo: :yelo:

                  2. No you don’t :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: ….only authentic DCs are allowed :hunterwali: See me..I look like this :panda: ..am like the benchmark for DCs :smug: :smug: :smug: and you are like this :cute: ..where are the DCs????? :violinbash:

                    1. Priya Rads are allowed to buy anything…even though Priya not :panda: but I forgive her and allow her to use the concealer..just like that

  3. Those dots are looking sooooooooo pweety!! he he…you have almost negligible dark circles 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: And you call this worst???? :spank: :spank: :spank: :spank: 😐 😐 😐

              1. no today was basic copycat day…didnt want to go with saffron to office…so i have metallic brown cream pencil of faces…i used that on the lid ..its very creamy and blends well…and put the usual liner… :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: now i will do more such things…and send you pics

                1. yeayeeeeeeeeeeee.. :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: me wearing golden bronze shade today!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: I want my 88 palette now!!! BF also can’t say anything to me!!! :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug:

                  1. am so excited with the new trick… 😐 😐 😐 am going to do it all the time…now i need a good base…. :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: cali when is ur courier cmg…

                    1. Donno..!! :wilt: I haven’t ordered it yet..but the current courier should come within a week time!! me :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: :waiting: Once this reaches fine, I’ll place order for that bigggggggggg eyeshadow palette!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

  4. It creases more when I try to apply it fast fast – I do calm patient pat pat with finger and it settles in nicely..no creasing at all actually :yahoo:

    1. i am still probing it and hv not got it right…need to work more….and i am not calm…i do fast fast ..lol…now i think i will do it calm. 😉

  5. Rads, u have dark circles??? i dont even feel Rati has them….The before & after photos look like without flash & with flash types 😐 😐 😐 …

    1. I do have Veda, and not nonexistent ones like Rati has :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: I have good thriving dark dark circles and deep gaddddas also ..err..as in the eyes are so deep inside so the dark circles are even more dark..   :panda: :panda: :panda: :panda:

  6. Rati you know till you told me even I ddint think of it..and then I told hubby and he was like thinking for some time…somehow we missed ke it won’t have flash 😐 😐 😐

    1. I know . Like we spent so much money on buying a handycam and took it pretty obvious that it would have a flash. Plus all these SAs kinda tell you 20 good things about their products. Later when i started using it for photographs I felt how much having a flash in the camera makes a difference. :(( Now toh I am not buying a camera before reading the reviews. :((

      1. I have cute pink cannon!!! :yelo: :yelo: :yelo: :yelo: that has flash and lots of other things!! And a stupid panasonic handycam, with very bad quality pics :(( ..only videos are nice in it!! :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali:

            1. Ohhhh…even my camera has flash Priya :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: oh oh oh..I got it…Ratiiii, you take photos and use Sanjeev’s phone torch for flash :plane: :plane: :plane: :plane: :plane: :plane: :plane: :plane: :plane: :plane:

          1. yeah..I should!!! Its sooooooo cuuute pink pink!! he he he…. We dont get such colors in India!! :(( I gifted my sis another nikon cam and could get only grey and black shades… I wanted to get another pink for her!! 😛 😛

  7. Priya, Rati did not mail me…. :weep: :weep: ….waiting for her mail :waiting: …
Rati & Priya….i finished my holidaying….so going back home from my parents… 😛

  8. This looks great Rati. I hope they make it part of their permanent collection! I have very fine skin under my eyes ,so my veins kindof show. I guess it’ll work well for that too.
I like the idea of using the yellow side for highlighting cheekbones :victory:
And I’ve been staring and staring to find your ‘dark’ circles..you hardly have any!!

    1. hey Sireesha,

Need a help. I have normal/combination skin, I am following the reviews and now addicted to make up. My skin breaks out too often and takes too much time to get normal. I read about the oriflame dual core concealer which works as a foundation and doubles up as a blemish solver…..any suggestion on its effectiveness….please help..

p.s. my complexion is on the darker side of brown…

      1. hi akhila.. :))

i too suffer from acne prone skin.i think you are talking about dual core foundation ?:) if yes i don’t know anthing about that.but if you are talkin abt dual core skin corrector/concealer then plz do not but it!! it does nothing for the breakouts and even doesn’t conceal properly.. it has a powdery finish and cakes up on the face easily. the only thing it does properly is serving as a good eyeshadow primer! and the shades do not exactl match our skin tones.so you better stay away from that.hope this helps :bravo:

        1. Hey Sireesha,

thank you very much for the suggestion…I was tempted to buy the dual core skin corrector…after reading about that product in the oriflame site….you saved me from more break outs and frustration….but I really need a nice liquid/fluid foundation+concealer to cover my blemishes and which has not too many chemicals….any suggestions would really be appreciated….

          love

      1. pata nahin kyun these companies make limited edition foundaion shades and concealers! :pissedoff: i mean com on..foundies and conclrs bhi lmtd edtn!! :headbang: :hunterwali: gaaawwwddd!!! :reallypissed: i feel like breaking the heads of who ever gave that idea to them!! :violinbash:

      1. I was just going to type a nice good “Hiiiiiiiiiii Donkey” and then I saw this…grrrrrrrrrrr :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: but I like being bad…me happy when I am bad :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

          1. Me changed so many schooooooooooooools…heheheeee      …the first school I went to naaa..the teacher there was trying to make us learn alphabets..and I tolerated till I reached “G” then I got irritated with her so I walked out of the class and went and sat in another class… :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: but I feel I don’t write “G” properly even now 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐

            1. It’s not necessary to write ‘G’ you know; you can just write an ‘*’ in place of ‘G and mention in the end ‘*’ stands for ‘G’. For example,

*han*hor *hata chhayi *a*an mein

  9. I always knew it :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: though why you mentioning it now ?:) ?:) ?:) ?:)

  10. Rati I am a member of IMMB for the last 6 months..I used to follow my inbox..but never commented till the sale organised by Natasha….
But I am afraid…u never reply to my qs….

    1. Rupa, she might have missed your comment. If it’s an urgent query do email it to us and we shall post it in ‘Ask IMBB’ You might get a satisfactory answer. 🙂

      1. Hiiii Rupa..sorry to jump in and comment but I just wanted to add a bit more to the donkey’s comment: If it’s about some specific product that you want to know, there is a search box top right of the page, it will be written “Google Custom Search” in it. Just type the product name in it and press enter, you will get a list of articles on IMBB with that product mentioned in it. I didn’t know about this feature until some time back, but now I find it so much more useful to search whatever information I need.

Another thing is, if you ask a question in the comments section and address it specifically to Rati, with all the rubbish we keep talking in comments section she might have easily missed it. If you don’t mind anyone else also answering it, you could ask it like a general question, for example, “Could anyone on IMBB please tell me if XYZ product is good or not?”

Sorry for the superlong comment

        1. Hmmm… I myself use the search option on IMBB all the time. And I’m always surprised by some or the other undiscovered post already written on a topic.

      2. Thanks Sanjeev …Don’t take it otherwise…nywaz i m loving these posts…I have a become a fan of this site now…cheers to all members… :yahoo:

              1. first confusing about orgasm and reshmi raseeli chaddi and then wet and wild and now this! 😆 😆 😆 :yelo: :yelo: :yelo:

                  1. You guys being soo mean to me!! :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: I’ll ask Rati to bend your already bent ear donkeyyyyyyyy…

And Sireeeeesha!! You wait..let your flare post come..I’ll post all :vampire: comments in that!! :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug:

      1. Sanjeev ji plzz rati se meri bhi thodi sifarish kijeye na! Mere mail ka bhi reply karne boliye na? please!
Aap chai lenge kya? ya nahi kuch thanda? Mai abhi lassi bana rahi thi! :X-P:

  11. Hawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww…how mean of her…I agree Prachi..totally she should have acknowledged it..she is becoming really horrid nowadays… :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Okay seriously though Prachi, I think she might be missing out on mails cos she gets a whole lot of mail so if you have a nonpersonal query maybe you can leave it in the comments with “Any jobless monkey on IMBB please reply” added to the comment :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: or if its a superurgent mail query then resend it naa.

  12. oh it was nothing like that i went on shopping on sunday and found St. Ives apricot scrub- Invgorating 😛 just told her that its hard to found such products in local market na

  13. :spank: :spank: :spank: I thought it was some superspicy gossip…. :spank: :spank: and now…what colour is this scrub? I can only recognize colours on the shelf..I wont remember the name…I also want to try it

  14. I got the tubwala scrub once..takes soooooooooo long to finish..don’t remember if it was St. Ives or Biotique…got :stars: :stars: :stars: by the time I managed to finish it…now I buy only chutku chutku tubes

    1. oh i bought this almost tub wala scrub of biotique and i have used it for 2 mths now and only the top surface has gone…i am already bored…..

  15. It’s a pretty good concealer. I went to meet my no-makeup friend today and she dint give me any weird expressions. She couldnt make out if I was wearing concealer. 😛 he he he he

    1. It must be maybelline wonder finish foundation, Scarlett.

I hope your skin is better now. :((I hate it when products break out on you. No doubt people are scared of doing makeup regularly.

        1. Scarlett :hughright: These fake stuff scares us a lot! I hate the marks left by the allergy & rashes, it takes some time for the skin to heal!
Keep applying cucumber slices, its gives a cooling effect & slowly takes care of the marks!

    1. yeah…otherwise my friends keep saying “kitna makeup karegi.” today she was super normal. All she could figure out was my new earrings./ :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:

  16. Rati Not to be seen on IMBB this afternoon, I guess you had a nice power nap or something?? :coffee:
Accha I have question, if unexpected guests come, how do u manage your work, sometimes people don’t realize & they keep chatting long hours!
You must be thinking na 24 hours are just not enough, with so much blog work! Hats off to you!

      1. Oh I want to answer that one please. Sit for 15-20 minutes (or more if you can spare that time), then politely say “I have this urgent work to finish, so please excuse me” and go finish your work.

        1. Rads, really! Do u do this?? I’ll come to your house & see how you say that, Bangalore is not too far from Hyd, I’ll get Jomol to accompany me! :yelo:

          1. Oh nooo..I mean oh pls do come..but what I said oh noo for is..for my friends or guests I know are coming and I can plan things, I don’t do that. It’s only for guests who drop in all of a sudden (or if people are staying at home with me) and if I really have work I say it. I don’t say it just like that to get away from people.

            1. Actually you know people who are sort of close to you (in my case my saasu maa, mom-dad, close friends) understand that you are busy and if you excuse yourself for a while they dont mind. So mostly with us people take it for granted that we’d be busy so they in a way get adjusted to our routines. You remem when Mrunmayee came, she sort of took it for granted that i’d be working during the day and all. I do accept that I have to compensate on my sleep or rest because then i have to manage both guests and work . I dont mind doing that once in a while. 🙂

                  1. Ya that’s true..besides I am so talkative I keep talking talking and the guests might be thinking when will this girl shut up and go work 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐

                    1. I know.. I lovved the khikhikhikhikhi :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

                    2. priya see noopur’s comment in maybelline post. she has written khikhikhikhi . It’s madder than hihihihihihi :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

  17. Accha I just read you went to meet the no make up wali friend! 🙂
Hee hee don’t answer ! I just wanted to say I really appreciate the kind of efforts you put in making IMBB rock.

      1. i was going to say this…when u see sanjeev replying to all queries..u know that rati has gone out or doing some makeup

        1. :shy: :shy: :shy: He is moody actually. I am like super excited to be around and chit chatting all the while. 😀 😀 Today I was thinking that i write so much English the whole day that I am even thinking in English. Not that it makes a difference but earlier I used to speak english only when it was required to. Now I am mostly talking in English only . It sort of feels a little fake in place like Delhi. 😐 😐

          1. Ya you are kind of normal (means you are okay mad)…I will remember suddenly ke donkey teaches maths and then I will be like superquiet if I see him on IMBB :tremble: :tremble: :tremble:

            1. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: he should be teaching logic.. I hate it when he gives logic. I am sure we’ll end up naming our kids “mom” and “dad” only because he’ll give some logic and I’ll agree to that. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

  18. Another one added to my must-try concealer list. I love that you can adjust the shade using the two colors together! Now I have 2 MAC concealers I’m raring to try-this and the one you used in your electric blue eotd. :giggle:
