This eyeliner is part of my Black Friday/makeup haul from Sephora and since it belongs to a high-end brand I had high expectations from it, but I have mixed feelings about this product. Read on further to know why:

My Experience with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Matte Brown 25L Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil:
After “black,” my next favorite eyeliner color is “brown” because it can be used in multiple ways and it gives a softer look to the eyes. I especially like to use brown eyeliner to create brown smokey eyes or use it on the waterline when I want to do dark eye makeup so that my eyes don’t appear small.
Packaging: This product comes in a sharpen-able pencil form. The pencil has a shiny brown finish and a cap on top.
Texture: Super soft and buttery, like a baby’s bottom 😛 but not smooth to the point that it keeps running and smudging (we all hate those raccoon eyes). It applies with equal ease on both eyelids and water line without any tugging or pulling. It gives a matte finish as claimed by the product.
Color: I love the color – brown with red undertones. It looks very pretty on eyelids especially when used to create brown smokey eyes; however, it does not appear that intense on water line and looks like a dull black color unless darkened with brown powder eyeshadow.
Pigmentation: One swipe gives a brown color, opaque streak and one need not go over water line or lids again and again to get full coverage – one swipe is enough. However, the intensity of the color does not increase appreciably over multiple swipes and hence it futile to do so.
Staying Power: Once applied, do not mess with it for at least 15 seconds and that’s it; enjoy brown smudge-proof look for an entire day or as long as one does not mess with it too much. It gives a good wear time on water line as well, but the wear time might vary from person to person. One can use a loose powder on the lids or a primer to prevent it from creasing or smudging. It gives a better wear time than most drug store mascaras.

Cons of Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Matte Brown 25L Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil:
- Needs to be sharpened.
- Intensity of brown color could have been better.
- Doesn’t appear deep brown on the waterline.
- Pricey.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Matte Brown 25L?
No, because whatever said and done, I like my khols to be extra intense and pigmented so that it stands out on my face. All those who don’t mind the $19 price tag and can compromise on the intensity of color, should check out this eyeliner.
