Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara Review

Recently, I got to try one of the famous mascaras from MUFE. Needless to say, I was beyond excited as this mascara has made quite a name for itself – it’s none other than MUFE Smoky Extravagant Mascara. Let’s see whether it has lived up to its claims and fame.

My Experience with Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara:

The packaging of the mascara that I received is different from the original ones. While this one is definitely smaller than the original one, this is also housed in a cylindrical black tube rather than the slightly curvy tube of the original one.

The wand of this mascara is the same as that of the original one. The wand is utterly beautiful and shaped like a Christmas tree which tapers from bottom to top. It is really easy to use and picks up just the right amount of mascara. The only drawback is that the mascara clumps on the thin end of this Christmas-y wand. This makes the application of the mascara to inner corners difficult.

The formula is neither too wet nor too dry, just perfect for a mascara. It did not smudge on the lower lash line at all. The colour of the mascara is true black.  This mascara added volume and length to my lashes but not incredibly so. One coat added just a hint of volume. Two coats made my lashes better defined but nothing that cannot be achieved with any other mascara. Third coat gave my lashes volume but made my lashes stiff which is really uncomfortable if you have a long day ahead. The mascara starts clumping with layering. Two coats will give you moderate volume and lengthen your lashes.

It did last me all day long, around 12 hours. Though it is not waterproof, it does not get washed away with one splash of water but smudges slightly. It is easy to remove with makeup remover.

Cons of Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara:

• Expensive.
• Mascara clumps on the thin end of the wand making application to inner lashes difficult.
• Adds moderate volume and length to the lashes.
• Starts clumping on layering.
• Couple of layers make the lashes stiff.
• Even two coats fail to produce a dramatic effect.
• Availability in India.

Would I Repurchase Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara?
No, I will advise you to save your bucks and skip this one. There are better mascaras available at the same or lesser price that do a better job than this.
