Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation Review

By Alka Rao

Skin tone: Medium with yellow undertones
Skin type: Combination, oily around the T-zone

Hey everyone,

This is my first post on IMBB and today I will be reviewing ‘Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation’. Makeup Revolution is currently one of my favourite drugstore brands. Their product range is inclusive of all skin tones, is cruelty-free and vegan. If all this wasn’t already enough, the brand is super affordable without compromising on product quality. Getting to this foundation; this foundation is on everyone’s wishlist in the Instagram community after one of the bloggers suffering from acne, hailed it as her Holy Grail foundation. Without further ado, let’s see how this product fared out.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation:

Packaging:
The packaging is simple, convenient and beautiful. The foundation comes in a twistable stick of beige colour and the name of the brand is embellished on the stick in rose gold letters. The cap is of the same beige colour and locks securely onto the stick. The shade number is labelled on the bottom. Overall, the packaging is very travel-friendly, has been designed for ease of use and is also sleek.

Shade and Texture:
I picked up the shade ‘F8’, which is described as ‘for medium skin tone with warm undertone’ on their website. I also saw a lot of swatches of the foundation and then decided to go with this colour. The foundation has 18 shades, which is very inclusive and fitting for all skin tones.

The texture of the foundation is creamy and soft. It isn’t light though; the consistency is more on the buttery side. But then again, this is expected for a foundation which claims for a ‘fresh and dewy finish’. The foundation stick is easy to apply, easily blendable and doesn’t tug or dry on the skin.

Finish and First Impression:
I just swiped a thin layer of the foundation on my skin (I moisturized and primed before), blended with a damp beauty blender and it was already enough coverage for my skin (which has several marks and redness around the nose). The coverage is medium to full and is buildable. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines of your skin. However, putting a thick layer of this foundation is not recommended as it will make you look cakey.

As soon as I finished blending, I was so surprised with the finish. It gives you a fresh and healthy glow rather than a completely dewy look. I have combination skin and foundation finishes are difficult decisions for me, but this was just perfect. There is no scent to the foundation.

Lasting Power and Performance:
I tested the lasting power of this foundation in quite decent conditions. I live in a cold country and I have to commute everywhere on a bicycle. The weather is windy and rainy throughout the year. For the first use, I primed my skin and put on this foundation without any loose powder. After the bike ride, the foundation completely melted off my upper lips (I have a very sweat prone face). So, I just dabbed with a tissue and continued with the day.

After 5-6 hours, a little bit of oil started showing around my nose. By the end of 8 hours, the foundation hadn’t oxidised, the coverage wasn’t flawless but was still intact. The second time, I did a heavier coverage of the foundation and set everything in my T-zone, with a loose powder. Voila! Everything stayed until 8 hours. Smaller amounts of oil showed up in the T-zone but nothing very overpowering. The healthy and fresh glow was still there – not as amazing as it was in the morning but it was still there. The foundation also didn’t break me out.
