Marks & Spencer Per Una Bronzing Powder Review, Swatch
Hi one and all..
Today I’m going to talk about my first bronzer used till date which is the M&S Bronzing powder. As I already wrote in my last M&S post that I got a complete makeup kit from M&S as a gift which had this powder but it was silently kept aside in my drawer for at least 18 months or so. Why?? Because I did not know what is a bronzer and how to use it. 😛 😛
Again Rati’s IMBB gave me the definition of a bronzer & YouTube gave me an idea for using it. And now my makeup is not complete till I apply this bronzer. It is my HG. I can skip a foundation, lipstick or blush but not this bronzing powder. I use it as an All over bronzer for a day look and just contouring my cheeks along with a blush for an evening look.
Before reviewing it, I would just like to tell something about a bronzer to the ladies new to this concept (very few, I guess 😉 ). Face bronzer is a temporary, washable cosmetic usually applied directly onto the face. One can apply a face bronzer to areas of the face that would naturally be touched by sun such as the cheeks, the bridge of the nose, and the forehead. By doing so, one may be able to achieve a “sun-kissed” look without the need for sun tanning in potentially harmful UVA & UVB rays, which can burn and damage the skin. One may, however, also use face bronzer wherever she wishes; the product is commonly added to the neck and chest when these parts are exposed. When looking for the right bronzer, one should look for a colour that is only two or three shades darker than her natural skin colour.
Experience using M&S per una Bronzing Powder
Product Claim: Blend the two shades to create a subtle matte look or a shimmering bronzed glow.
Qty: 11.5 grams.
Price: Not known. All bronzers of M&S falls between the price range of 3.5-12£
The bronzer with the matte shade on left & shimmer on right. 2nd pic wth shimmer shade on left.
Packaging: Classic. That’s the only word which comes in my mind on seeing it. It is a silver metal case with the 3 little hearts (per una brand logo) engraved on it. Opening it reveals the product & a big clear mirror on the inner lid which is convenient for on-the-go.
Product: This bronzer has 2 shades. One matte & the other is shimmery but the shimmer is not OTT at all. The powder itself is very fine & just a single swipe of the brush is enough to apply on my face. But I like to use two swipes of it to just get the perfect bronzed look.
How I use it: I like to blend the two shades together & apply it just along the cheekbones then going up & blending it up the temples into the hair line. Then applying a very small amount to my nose, chin and my jaw line. This is during the day.
For a night look, I use the shimmer shade as a blush so I apply it on the apples of my cheeks blending it to the temples. Or I just use it for contouring my cheek bones & applying a blush on the cheeks.
It is very easy to overdo a bronzing powder usually during my starting days of applying it but it never made my face look muddy/dirty. It balances the effect of a foundation thus giving a complete natural glow which I love. This shade (no.4) would easily suit anyone with light to medium skin tone.
To sum up: I use it; have to use it to get that natural look. 🙂

Ratings: :-* :-* :-* :-* + 0.5 (-0.5 for non-availability)
Now come my picture wearing the bronzing powder used for contouring my cheeks & below the jaw line & even on the hairline.

I took pictures in natural light too but the bronzer was not much visible as it can be seen only when closely observed. It does give that natural contouring to the face which I love.
