The Body Shop Bronzing Powder Review

The Body Shop Bronzing Powder

The body shop bronzer

My sister sent me so many gifts and this bronzer is just one of them. Though I have started improving my makeup skills very recently, I am still refraining myself from so many make up stuffs like the bronzer. When my sister sent this to me, I thought it is the right time for me to start trying out the bronzer and here is my review for the same.

From The Body Shop Website:
• Best if you want to: Instantly bronze and brighten your skin with a lightweight, matte powder.
• Best for: all skin types
• What it is designed to do:
o Light-diffusing particles provide instant radiance and help reduce the appearance of fine lines.
o Community Trade marula oil from Namibia helps to repair skin’s moisture barrier.
o Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps to soften, condition and protect skin.
How to use it: Apply to face, cheeks and décolletage with The Body Shop® Face & Body Brush. To keep bronzing powder from looking patchy on your skin and to ensure that it lasts all day, first apply our Pressed Face Powder using our Face & Body Brush.

For best results, cleanse, tone and moisturize your face beforehand with products from the Skin Care range best suited to your skin type. Apply one of our makeup foundations and Lightening Touch beforehand.

My Take on The Body Shop Bronzing Powder:

There are 3 shades available out of which one (shade 3) is shimmering. Shade 01 is light and shade 04 is dark. The price of The Body Shop Bronzing Powder is $18.50, which is approximately Rs.900 for 11.5 g. The shade I have got is 01 (light) and I think that is where the mistake lies. It does not suit my skin tone. I tried my level best to make it work for me, but I ended up looking like a ghost and so I passed this on to my mum whose skin tone is lighter then mine 😀

Other than that, the powder is so soft and works like a dream on the skin. I feel so comfortable wearing the bronzer on me. It does not come with an applicator, so I use a brush separately from my collection. This is a good matte powder. I would say it is a creamy powder, yes even after taking it in a brush, the powder doesn’t fly away from the pan. I really like its texture, something different from the usual ones. This is my first bronzer, so it is very special to me (though it didn’t suit my skin tone :p), no idea about how it works on fine lines.

Bronzer swatch

Pros:

• Texture of the bronzer is super soft and creamy.
• Smooth on skin and gets evenly distributed.
• Does not look patchy.
• Light on skin.
• No strong fragrance.
• Available in 3 shades.
• Worth the price.
• The powder is not very powdery and thus does not make the pan messy and I really like it.

Cons:

• When I wanted to buy the darker shade for me, I couldn’t find it in the TBS stores here. So, I am not sure about its availability in India !!!
• They could have provided an applicator along with the bronzer. Whenever I carry the bronzer with me, I have to carry the applicator separately.

Rating:

4/5.

Will I Repurchase?

I really want to try this one in the right shade. So, I am still hunting for the darker version of this bronzer for myself. I am also curious to try the glittery one 😀

  1. Too light for me…And I don’t really comprehend the hype over bronzers…so…Meh. :idk: :idk:

  2. Nice review Aarthi.. Bad its not ur type :spank: , i loved the packaging though.. I dont own a single bronzer.. me wanna buy one.. :waaa: :waaa: :waaa: :waaa:

  3. ..I liked your post….I m using the same bronzer in shade 04…
the 04 shade really goes well with the average Indian skin tones..
But it is discontinued now here in Hong Kong… :((
    …which i bought for 149 HKD .ie.approx Rs.900 …i am using it for quiet few months now…like the whole summer… 🙂
..Its also my first bronzer .. :mirror:
    ..i Luv it…

  4. Generally the shade you look for is “out of stock” with TBS. This happened with me when I checked on the concealer and the SA was shoving the lighter shade saying it would look natural once you apply a compact on the top :pan:

  5. Its very light for a bronzer especially for indian skin tones :waaa:
Aarthi check out bourjois..they have one good bronzer seems just like chocolate and would go well with indian skin tones..but not sure of the availability though 😥

  6. again.. y they named these bronzers first of all :pan: .. its more like a compact..
i cud nvr buy this 1 even if 100 ppl tell me its a bronzer 😐
thank god it was a gift aarthi n u passed it on.. try another shade in the same range :waytogo: .. tooo liked the different texture of this 1..

    1. I have no idea about bronzers and I never even wanted to try one. When I got this as a gift, that is when I got the interest.. will try a bronzer [taking all ur suggestions] soon Nids 🙂

  7. i’ve never tried one….. but except for the wrong color i think it scores in all other departments 🙂 hope you get your shade soon 🙂
