My Experience with Maybelline Color Jolt Matte Intense Lip Paint 03 Baby Mauve:

Beginning with the packaging of the product. The lipstick comes in a nice easy squeeze tube with a soft foam applicator. The tube is tiny and easy to accommodate. The body of the tube is color coded, which helps to spot the shades easily from makeup stash. The tube has detailing with black fonts and has a long matte black cap. This is a typical screw-on type cap that fits pretty securely making the packaging leaf-proof and travel friendly. The cap has a nice rubberized texture, which feels super soft. The applicator is soft and helps with precise application. The slanted tip helps to apply the lipstick easily. Overall, the packaging is really nice and travel friendly.

“Baby Mauve” is a nice cool-toned pink shade with a hint of purple in it or it can even be called as a perfect Barbie pink shade. This shade is suitable for fair to medium skin tones. It is a lovely color which would brighten up the complexion. The color is subtle and good for daytime wear. It is a pretty shade for office wear, even for regular wear. It does not look too bold or over the top. This lip paint is super pigmented. It gives semi-opaque coverage in a single swipe. I apply two coats, which helps me in hiding the pigmentation of the lips. The color is easily buildable. The finish of this lipstick is soft matte. There is no significant sheen or shimmers in this lipstick. It has a sweet candy like fragrance in it, which is very refreshing and barely noticeable. The smell is not too strong or bothersome.

The texture of the lipstick is soft and smooth. The formula feels on the creamier side. Hence, it glides effortlessly on the lips without any tugging or pulling. The color spreads easily on the lips. It does not settle into the fine lines of the lips and looks even and smooth on the lips. The lipstick does not budge at all. The lipstick has a tendency to transfer a little but I am glad the formula is not heavily transferring. The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. It does not have that thick or waxy kind of texture. The lipstick has the tendency to cling to dry patches of the lips, so it is necessary to keep the lips well exfoliated and moisturized. The lipstick formula is not really moisturizing. My lips feel dry after a few hours of application. So, it is necessary to keep the lips hydrated and nourished.

The lasting power is super long, it stays for around 6-7 hours easily on my lips. It does not smear at all. The color fades a little with a full meal. A light stain stays on the lips, so I prefer a reapplication after meals to make it look fresh and beautiful. Removing the lipstick is easy but it has the tendency to stain the lips slightly, so it is important to use a good makeup remover to take off the lipstick completely.
