Today, I will review for you one of the lipsticks that I got recently.

My Experience with Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick – Sweet Pink:

I owned two Color Sensational lipsticks before I saw this on a site and the color seemed appropriate to me for wearing under sheer lip glosses. What the site did not mention was that this is a shimmery shade, no matter how subtle the shimmer is, I have realized with time that shimmery lipsticks are generally dry and wearing them under lip gloss does not really result in the prettiest lips.

The packaging is pretty with transparent maroon cap with a sleek, silver case. The lipstick is a nude pink, almost peachy. It has very subtle silver shimmer in it which cannot be seen in the bullet.

It’s an extremely sheer shade and for me to hide my pigmented lips, I had to layer about seven to eight swipes of the lipstick, which I tell you, did not look clean at all. The color washed me out, but I had got this for wearing under sheer glosses, so I did not mind that. Since I already had a gazillion layers on my lips, when I topped it up with gloss, the result was not neat. I wish the site mentioned this lipstick was sheer.

The formula though not dry, cannot be called moisturizing. This can be attributed to the presence of shimmer. Again, something that was not mentioned on the site. It is creamy but sheer. The staying power is ridiculously low, a maximum of one hour and who knows how long with food intake.

I don’t think this color will suit most of the Indian women. Fair, cool toned women with un-pigmented lips could go ahead and try this.

Pros of Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick – Sweet Pink:

• Affordable.
• Creamy.
• Pretty case.
• A great color for every day wear for fair , cool toned women.

Cons of Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick – Sweet Pink:

• Staying power is horrible.
• Pulling this shade off might not be easy for most of the Indian women.
• Has shimmer and therefore not really great at moisturization.
• Sheer formula that does not help the pigmented lips at all.

Will I Repurchase Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick – Sweet Pink?

No, I had bought this lipstick solely for wearing under sheer lip glosses as my lips are extremely pigmented. The formula of this lipstick having a very low staying power does not serve that purpose. I don’t think I can pull off this color as it is especially in winters when I turn a minimum of three shades darker than I usually am.  I will try it after the winter’s are over, but because of the incredibly low staying power, I will not buy them again.

Who will I Recommend Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in the Shade Sweet Pink?

Extremely fair and cool toned women and for whom staying power of the lipstick is not an issue, who do not have pigmented lips.
