This range right now has around eight shades. Today I am going to review the shade Polished Amethyst. Let’s get started with its review now.

My Experience with Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil – Polished Amethyst:
Packaging:
The liner comes in a standard white and purple paper packaging; this paper packaging carries the product description, claims etc. The actual liner comes in a gorgeous color-coded pencil with a clear cap. It is a sharpenable pencil but there is no sharpener provided with the pencil. Overall, the pencil looks nice and is quite easy to carry around.
Shade:
‘Polished Amethyst’ is a beautiful bright shiny purple shade. It looks really nice on the eyes. It is a different yet wearable shade for all complexions and it suits my medium skin tone perfectly. I love to wear colorful eyeliners and it adds a vibrant and attractive look to my eyes. This shade is quite pigmented, hence only one to two swipes are required for the true color payoff. I really love this color and its pigmentation.
Texture and Quality:
This pencil has a super smooth and creamy texture which glides like a dream. This smooth and soft texture goes on amazingly well on the waterline without any tugging. I like this formula as it doesn’t dry out instantly. So, I can blend it or smudge it for a little natural look. It never looks patchy or dry. It gives a flawless, silky finish. It has a perfect, shiny, non-drying and velvety finish.
There isn’t any overpowering shimmer or glitter in the eyeliner. Therefore, the eyeliner doesn’t only look nice on the eyes, it does not lead to any irritation either. It is so easy to draw lines on the lower and upper lash line with this. It works well in both ways. But, for a sharp winged liner, a perfect tip is needed. The overall procedure is smooth and requires only a few minutes.
This ‘Lasting Drama’ name describes that it is a long lasting eye liner. And yes, it lasts super long and doesn’t look messy at all. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines and it doesn’t crease. The formula is totally smudge-proof and transfer-proof, hence it survives one whole day. But after 5-6 hours, it gets slightly settled in my watery eye corners. The brand claims that this eyeliner will last 16 hours but I never keep my liner on for that long. Still, I would say, this is a huge claim and is not quite true. It lasts around 10 hours nicely. It doesn’t stain and can be removed with an oil-based makeup remover.
Overall:
I am amazed at the quality and staying power of this eyeliner. This purple shade looks very beautiful on the eyes and I love its creamy, smooth texture. We must have shades from this range in our collection. It actually reminds me the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner range. Both, the formula and quality, are quite similar but L’Oreal eyeliners have better staying power.
