Messy Bun Tutorial
Summer’s approaching fast. Hell, summer’s already here. The one thing I always want to do in summers is cut my hair real short. But that’s not possible as I love my hair too much. So what’s the next best thing? Cool updos!!!!
So today I am gonna show you one of the easiest and simplest updos. I call it the sideswept messy bun.
So here we go.
All you need for this updo is a single hair tie/rubber band.
Step 1: Brush your hair in place. Create a side part, like so:
Step 2: Gather all your hair on the side of the bigger part. Sorry my parting’s not visible. ☹
Step 3: Secure a loose ponytail using all your hair. The rubber band should be just below your ear. Like so:
Step 4: Create a small hole just above the hair tie with your thumb and index finger. Like so:
Step 5: Flip your ponytail through this hole.
Step 6: Tighten your ponytail by grabbing two sections of the hair and pulling them. What you get is an upside down ponytail like so
Step 7: This is how it looks from the front. You can keep your hair like this, too. I love this style. Or you can proceed to the messy bun.
Step 8: Create a hole again in the same place above the hair tie, and again flip your ponytail through it. But only halfway through this time. This gives you a rudimentary bun and a mass of loose hair hanging on the top. Like so:
Also the loose hair on top hide the rubber band completely.

This hairstyle works best on curly/wavy hair. Although girls with straight hair can also wear this to keep their hair up and out of the way.

The loop tool makes a neat ponytail.. But this technique works just fine!!

But a tip for buns: Always try out buns on 2-3 days old hair rather than freshly washed. It holds much better.
