Time for another IMBB sponsored product *happy dance*. Yaayy!! I’m always on the hunt for some good powders, thanks to my super oily skin! Since I have “high maintenance” skin, I am quite picky about the powders I put on my face. I need one with good coverage, mattifying finish and above all, non-comedogenic! My all-time favourite is the MAC Studio Fix Powder, but I decided to give the NARS Soft Velvet Loose Powder a chance as I wanted to try out a good loose powder. So, let’s get started.

My Experience with NARS Eden Soft Velvet Loose Powder:
Packaging: This powder is packaged in the typical NARS black cardboard-paper box with all the details mentioned on the box in white. It also contains a pamphlet which states the product description and usage in numerous different languages.
The powder itself is housed in the regular NARS Powder jar with the matte black screw cap that holds onto dirt and fingerprints. The powder sieve on the top has small holes, and comes protected with a plastic tape like all loose powders. I don’t have any issue with the packaging at all.
Color: This is the shade “Eden,” and it is matches my skin tone perfectly! This is neither white nor translucent, but it’s a really lovely mid-toned neutral color. Since this is a loose powder, one shade will suit a couple of different skin tones, like Eden compliments NC 30 and NC 35 really well. Also, there is a wide range of colors that one can choose from, so no one will be disappointed.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation of this baby is just like a powder foundation, but better! NARS states that this can be used over foundation, but I would say so only if you want a full coverage or using a very light hand. This powder can be used on its own after applying concealer, especially if you want to go for a very natural look. It is potent in hiding minor imperfections and providing an even tone to the skin.
Texture: The texture of this baby is unbelievably awesome! It is so soft and smooth and blendable that all you need is a brushing this on the face without any effort and you’re good to go! It gives such an air-brushed finish to the face that I was amazed! It makes the pores and fine lines of the skin disappear, and mattifies the skin beautifully. Trust me ladies, the texture is the hero feature of this powder!
Longevity: I would say the lasting power of this one is like my MAC Studio Fix powder which lasts for a good 6-7 hours without making my face oily. After that, light touch-up may be needed depending on your skin type. Also, the longevity considerably increases when used over a primer and set with a makeup setting spray.

- Pricey (not really a con considering the performance and quantity).
