I wanted to try this brand for so long, and I always went bonkers over their magnificent packaging. My Experience with Nudestix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil Retro:
Nudetstix has some amazing products. All their products are in the crayon form, and one of the famous products in their line is the magnetic lip color, which is also known as a lip tattoo. The other one is their intense matte lip and cheek color. There are around 10 shades in this range, and I picked up their newest color “Retro”. These crayons are enriched with skin-saving vitamins, antioxidants and moisturisers. Each multi-purpose Nudestix pencil is packed with goodness of Shea Butter, and they are free from harmful parabens, sulfates and phthalates.
Packaging: The packaging is just wow and innovative. All the crayons come in a black matte cylindrical metallic box with the brand name on the top. So, each pencil comes in its own tin with a built-in mirror and sharpener, which doubles up as a pencil cap. The actual crayon is black in color and is sharpenable. It also has a color-coded strip in the bottom with the shade name. The outer box is very roomy and has a huge mirror. It is one of the best packagings I have laid my eyes on. Sometimes, I pop some pencils in the tin to use it on the go.
Shade: The shade, “Retro” is one of a unique color. It is a mix of red and brown with a light rosy undertone. It is a beautiful color and would work across all skin tones. It is more like a neutral color, neither too heavy nor not too nude. It is one perfect color for all occasions. This has become my go-to shade nowadays.
Formula: These pencils are multi-purpose products that act as a lip liner, lipstick, cream blush and is perfect for the busy person. The formula of these sticks is just out of this world. It is non-drying and quite soft for a matte-claimed pencil.
The pencil has an amazing pigmentation. The texture is creamy but, it dries to a matte finish, and it goes opaque in just a single swipe. As with most matte lip colours, this one looks much better when applied onto exfoliated lips, but it’s more moisturising than some other similar products I’ve tried. Initially, I loved this one more as just a lip product but, I have been using it more recently as a blush too as it blends so beautifully on the cheeks. It looks really pretty both as a lip and a cheek color, and it adds to that effortless beauty look.
Lasting Power: I had worn it for the whole day, and have got to say that I’m really impressed with its longevity – both on my face and lips! Nudestix claims that it is an “ultra-long wearing matte formula”, which is waterproof, smudge-proof and non-feathering for up to six hours. And, that’s almost true. This one lives up to its claims. Even though Nudestix claims that the longevity of the pencil is 6 hours, I wore it comfortably for 8 hours, and it still stayed on my lips with a slight fading after an oily meal. So overall, I’m really impressed with this pencil, and it is one of the most comfortable matte lipsticks that I own.
