Today I am going to share my experience with a gorgeous n*de eyeshadow palette by NYX. Let’s get into the review of NYX Love in Paris Eye Shadow Palette in the shade ‘Parisian Chic’.

My Experience with NYX Parisian Chic Love in Paris Eye Shadow Palette:
Packaging: The palette comes in a beautiful black colored flat plastic container with a clear lid. It has a very cute bow that makes it really pretty. This lightweight packaging is totally a travel-friendly one. NYX hasn’t provided a mirror with this one but there is one sponge applicator which is useless.
Shades: This range offers many variants and I have the variant ‘Parisian Chic’ with me today. It contains 9 gorgeous eyeshadows, but the shade selection lacks variety. Most of the shades are similar and a few shades look almost the same on my eyes. Let’s discuss each shade, starting with the first row.
Shade 1: A very natural ashy brown shade. It is almost a nude matte shade for my skin tone.
Shade 2: A very pretty peachy-beige shade that acts as a nice highlighting shade. It contains micro shimmers.
Shade 3: A medium brown shade with finely milled shimmers. It helps to define my crease.
Shade 4: A fresh creamy white shade; a perfect matte color.
Shade 5: A very light brown shade that also looks almost nude on my skin tone.
Shade 6: A beautiful dark brown matte shade that looks nice on the outer corners.
Shade 7: A gorgeous metallic brown shade with fine shimmers.
Shade 8: A very pretty metallic copper shade that looks edgy. It has some fine shimmers in it.
Shade 9: A dark brown shade with some noticeable copper shimmers. I love this shade!
Pigmentation: This palette offers a nice mix of shimmery and matte shades, which I really like. All the shimmery shades are decently pigmented but the matte shades are poor in pigmentation. They need many swipes for the true color to show up on the skin. Plus, a few shades like shade 1 and 5 don’t even show up on the skin. But, overall, the dark shimmery shades look nice on eyes and I can build up the color with a few layers.
Texture and Quality: Shimmery as well as matte shades have super smooth and silky texture that glides easily on the eyes. They blend effortlessly and never look patchy. All the shades feel light and soft in texture to me. The matte shades are pretty velvety in texture and blend easily without feeling chalky. I like the overall quality and how the shadows look on my eyes. The shimmery shades are also the same in nature. But the shimmery shades fall out a little during application.
Staying Power: All the shades stay on my eyes for around 5 hours and they never move from their place. The colors look perfect, especially the darker shades even by the end of the day. But the staying power could have been better. A primer is needed for the shades to last long. These shadows are easy to remove, even the shimmery ones. They never settle into the fine lines and never crease either. Also, these eyeshadows have never irritated my eyes.
Overall: I love this palette as it offers good quality neutral shades. Still, I was expecting better performance from this one. The shade selection especially could not impress me. I can create some gorgeous eye makeup looks with this one but a few versatile shades could have improved the utility and beauty of this palette.

⦁ Shade selection isn’t versatile.
⦁ Most of the shades look very similar.
⦁ Matte shades are less pigmented.
⦁ Staying power could have been better.
⦁ Shadows fall out a little.

I love to try out different palettes so I generally never repurchase. You can also skip this palette if you already own a nice neutral palette.
