I love trying out different hair care products and OGX is a brand whose products have never disappointed me. So, when I came across the OGX Moisture + Vitamin B5 Weightless Oil Mist, I couldn’t resist myself from trying it out. Read on to find out more about this oil mist.
$8.69; prices vary from store to store.
Mist your hair with health. This oil formula infused with Vitamin B5 helps to nourish each strand from within, creating moisture-rich, beautiful tresses.
How To Use:
After shampooing, towel dry hair. Spray Weightless Oil evenly onto damp hair, then blow dry to infuse it into the hair shaft. Finish by misting all over for optimal shine and hydration. For best results use in conjunction with other OGX products.
My Experience with OGX Moisture + Vitamin B5 Weightless Oil Mist:
Packaging: This product comes in a sleek yet sturdy red-colored plastic bottle which looks quite attractive. It has a dispenser pump mechanism which is to be used to spray the oil on to your hair like a mist. The dispenser does a decent job at that. The cap shuts tight and there is no risk of any spillage. The bottle is quite handy and travel friendly.
Texture/Performance/Fragrance: There was a time when my hair used to be naturally oily and I did not need to use any external oils or other products. But over time, my locks have become dry and do not look as healthy now. However, my scalp continues to be on the greasy side. So, I get gravitated towards products which claim to hydrate and nourish, but are lightweight at the same time.
My first impression with this oil mist is that it is indeed lightweight or weightless as it claims. It has a thin watery consistency and does not feel oil-like. I mist it over my towel-dried hair and then use my hands to distribute it more evenly. It easily spreads through the hair. It can be used on dry hair as well.
It gets absorbed well in my hair and leaves me with shiny and healthy-looking hair. It does not weigh down the hair. It manages to tame the frizz a bit, but the flyways return in some time. But, now the not-so-good part – this makes my hair more oily than it normally becomes between washes. In my case, the hair looks great for the first couple of days after a shampoo, but it becomes quite greasy by day 3. Hence, I would recommend this to beauties with really dry hair.
The oil mist has a strong fragrance; I personally liked it, but those of you who do not like strongly fragranced hair products should stay away.
Pros of OGX Moisture + Vitamin B5 Weightless Oil Mist:
- Weightless indeed.
- Easily spreadable.
- Nourishes hair to give a healthy and glossy look.
Cons of OGX Moisture + Vitamin B5 Weightless Oil Mist:
- Fragrance is strong and can be a con for some.
- Does not succeed entirely in controlling the frizz.
- Best suited for dry hair as it tends to make hair oilier as time passes.
Would I Repurchase OGX Moisture + Vitamin B5 Weightless Oil Mist?
If you have extremely dry hair and are looking for a hair oil to give you softer, glossier hair, then you can surely try out this product. It makes my hair oilier between washes and hence I will not repurchase.
