Outfit of the Day: White Lace Saree and Brocade Blouse

Hi Pretty Ones!

You all have made my durga puja time even more enjoyable by such lovely comments on my OOTDs πŸ™‚ A big thank u to all of you! Today is the final festive OOTD that I am doing. I do hope you all will like this too πŸ™‚ I got this saree on occasion of my sister’s marriage last year and did not get an occasion to wear it again, so today I thought of giving it a try. The saree is white lace and had matching blouse material. But I did not like the idea of going all white in my sister’s wedding, so I picked up a brocade fabric and got it stitched at the tailor’s.

The blouse as you can see is similar to the one in one of my OOTDs. Mummy picked up that large sequin from a store and got it stitched at the blouse’s back.

Blouse Design

Going with the red, green and copper of the blouse, I picked up kundan jewellery. The earring is the same I wore in my first festive OOTD.

Aparjita

A similar purse and my favorite golden sandals completed the look!

White saree

For make up, I used a copper eye shadow and black eyeliner and kajal. On lips, Oriflame lip stain in red topped with Streetwear’s creamy brown shade. I left my hair open as usual without any styling.

          1. Sorry for spying and for butting in the conversation but wow, you’re studying Chinese language and culture! Unique. πŸ˜€

Haven’t been too regular on IMBB lately but just went back and checked out your other OOTDs. You look gorgeous. And more than anything else, I really like the little creative touches that you give to your outfits, like that big flowery sequin here and those painted bangles in another look. Very cool. πŸ™‚

              1. me too sorry for spying! πŸ˜› but its really interesting je tumi Chinese culture niye study korchho! The white saree is awesome.

    1. moderation πŸ™ this is what i typed

Aparajitha, loved your thought of pairing white saree with contrasting blouse πŸ™

  1. u look so pretty.. I wish we also week long festivals and chance to wear and flaunt our beautiful traditional dresses. PS: your are not wearing neck piece, I liked all your silver jewelery

    1. thanks u shikha! πŸ™‚ yeah i missed out on that.. actually in our colony we have to do all the puja work by ourselves… all the neighbourhood girls team up to cut fruits, arrange mithais and collect flowers fr the pooja. so all the “dressing up” u see is always done in a hurry πŸ™‚ so things get missed sometimes πŸ™‚

    1. hehe.. thank u sooo much dear :* nothing much, just regular care with homemade stuff and affordable stuff. and ya, i love gorging on fruits. n while doing it, i always rub a bit of the fruit all over my face πŸ™‚ quick and easy, inner outer vitamin shot! πŸ˜€ now u know πŸ˜‰

  2. Lovely Saree Aparajita. Dibrugarh houses really good stuff. Guwahati is pretty expensive in comparison. Hope you had a wonderful Puja.

      1. yes it was good wandering about the pandals till midnight. Didn’t get time to comment on your previous OOTD’S. you have accessorised everything so well and looking fab in each one

  3. Hey aparajita your skin really sets your looks apart and after seeing your moms pick all of us know where you got it from!!!!!!!!!! And stitching that brocade in teh blouse was a fab idea! It looks so pretty and lovely on you!!!!!!!

  4. that blouse is really se*y. and white lace saree! wow..I think with a saree like that you have so many options for blouses and accesories. awesome ya..

  5. I too would like to add to all the lovely comments you received for all your OOTD’s. I personally liked how you went that extra step to customize everything and make it exclusive esp. painting on the blouse etc. Keep it coming Aparajita. I feel any day Sarees are a class apart!! πŸ™‚

    1. thanks a lot leez! yup, i had an awesome time! n more so coz the puja pandal is exactly infront of my house and all the pooja work is done in our house itself making it more like our family’s puja than colony’s πŸ™‚ n we had cultural programs and feasts till last night! our colony members are just like an extended family, we enjoyed a lottttttttttt together πŸ™‚
