Hope you are having a great day! Today, I am reviewing an eye shadow from the Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links range. The shade is Cocoa – 290.

My Experience with Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links Eyeshadow – Cocoa 290:

I believe this shade has not been released in India. I was fascinated by these cute little boxes of eyeshadow, as most of us were! The idea of choosing your own colors and building a palette of colors you will actually use sounds great! Now, if only these shadows showed up and decided to stay on the lids for at least a few hours!

I did get a few other colors which have already been reviewed here and I agree with the reviewers. The quality of these eyeshadows leaves a lot to be desired. The product claim of “all day wear” must surely be sarcastic!

Packaging:

The eyeshadow comes in a small plastic case with a transparent lid which closes securely with a click. It is travel friendly and the transparent lid makes it easier to spot the color you want in a jiffy. The grooves on the side enable you to link other colors with this, to make your own palette.

Color and Finish:

Cocoa is a satin finish, dark brown eye shadow. It does not contain any glitter/shimmer. It goes on very smooth. Pigmentation is just average for such a dark color. One swipe is not sufficient to get the complete color intensity in the pan. You have to build up the pigmentation with multiple swipes of color.

Texture:

This texture is quite soft. It glides easily without tugging and does not feel gritty/chalky. I do not have any problem with fall out.

Longevity:

The color lasts on my lids for around 3 hours with a base. Without a base, it hardly lasts for an hour on my oily lids! As an eyebrow filler though, it lasts for the entire day. I am quite happy with that!

This can be used as a soft smudged liner under the lower lash line and it works great as a brow filler. Looks very natural on the eyebrows and you do not have to be very careful while filling your brows with this. Since the color blends in so nicely, even a haphazard application looks pretty decent! This is what I am using this shadow for on a daily basis!

Do I Recommend Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links Eyeshadow – Cocoa 290?

I would recommend this eyeshadow more as a brow filler, rather than an eye shadow! There are much better eye shadows available.
