This Rimmel mascara caught my eye on my recent trip to the drugstore. I am not an avid fan of Rimmel London brand and rarely pick products from it. There was this deal going on certain products from the brand, so I bought it. I have tried mascaras from Rimmel previously – they fared well enough, but not so much to merit repurchase. Based on my previous reviews, one can guess easily that I love to hoard mascaras and lip balms. I love to flaunt lush, long, beautiful lashes. Unfortunately, I was not blessed with long lashes, so I seek solace in volumizing mascaras.
Volume and Curl. Deny-Gravity brush is 50% larger, covering the whole lash line
Triple collagen + keratin formula indicts and plumps even the thinnest and weakest lashes. 12x more volume and 70% more lift for plump lashes that will defy gravity!
My Experience with Rimmel ScandalEyes Curve Alert Mascara:
The product comes in a tube packaging. The tube is a bit too fat and obnoxious and its dimensions seem futile to me because it still holds the usual amount of product. The cap holds the wand, which is again XXL in size and has a curve to it. The bristles are rightly spaced, but the size is a little intimidating and I would not recommend using this mascara when in a rush because it is bound to poke the eyes. It also picks up excess of product and leads to wastage or contamination. The curvaceous wand can help add more length and curve to the lashes, although that did not seem to happen for me.
This mascara claims to add enough product to cover the whole lashes, which it does, but it has to be used carefully with patience or it will poke the eyes. This mascara claims to contain triple collagen and keratin formula and claims to plump even the thinnest and weakest of lashes. Honestly, this claim seems too exaggerated and even if some changes did happen to my lashes, they were too minute to be noticeable. It also claims to add 12x more volume and 70% more lift to lashes that would defy gravity, but I did not measure my lashes before and after application, so not sure how true these claims are, but again, I would not take them literally.
It has a thick consistency and helps add some color and definition to the lashes. The curve of the wand helps to hold the curl in place (if applied with care and patience). It does require multiple coats to add more drama to the lashes, but that is true for any mascara (I personally layer it with my trusted Too Faced Better Than S*x Mascara). It has no fragrance, is opaque black in color, does not clump lashes, and has no fallout. For me personally, this mascara alone is not sufficient and I have to layer it with another mascara to make my lashes more noticeable.
Pros of Rimmel ScandalEyes Curve Alert Mascara:
- Comes in a decent-sized tube, will perhaps last a while.
- Affordable, worth a try.
- Adds definition to the lashes, perfect for those who like to layer at least two different kind of mascaras.
- The wand is curvaceous and adds lift to lashes (if applied with care and patience).
Cons of Rimmel ScandalEyes Curve Alert Mascara:
- For someone like me who has sparse lashes, this mascara might not suffice alone and might need to be further layered with another thickening mascara.
- I would not use it when in a rush or the wand would certainly poke my eyes.
- I have to layer it with a thickening mascara to add the desired length to my lashes.
Would I Recommend Rimmel ScandalEyes Curve Alert Mascara?
It is not too expensive and is definitely worth a try. I recommend it to those who love to try new products and are blesses with thick, long lashes other like me can skip it.
