10 Tips to Care for Sunken Eyes and Dark Circles

Sunken eyes and dark circles can really effect one’s personality. Dark circles are often caused by stress, insufficient sleep, eating habits, sun exposure or family history. Sunken eyes on the other hand may be caused by dehydration, excessive caffeine or soda. Medical attention is required for sunken eyes and dark circles, but the following tips can definitely improve the appearance.

1. Add Vitamins to Your Diet:

Deficiencies of vitamin C, vitamin K, and iron can cause eyes to become sunken. Add vitamin C, K and iron in your daily diet to improve your dark circles and sunken eyes. (Consult your doctor for choosing the right tablet).

2. Get Your Daily Dose of Beauty Sleep:

Insufficient sleep or disrupted sleep can cause sunken eyes and discoloration (dark circles) of the delicate skin just below the eyes. Get at least 8-9 hours of sleep. Avoid late night partying, working on laptops, etc.

3. Make Friends with Collagen:

As the body ages, it tends to lose collagen. 8. Use Green Tea Bags:

Green tea bags may help reduce dark circles by improving the appearance of your eye. Steep two bags of tea, the way you usually steep, Then squeeze out the excess water from the bags. Allow them to cool down or chill them in the refrigerator for 10 to 20 minutes. Apply the tea bags to closed eyes for 15 to 30 minutes.

9. Massage Fish Oil:

Fish oil is Rich in omega fatty acids, fish oil is an excellent remedy if you have sunken eyes or dark circles that are beginning to form. These fatty acids maintain good health of the skin layers, promote healing of the damaged cells and are anti-inflammatory. Simply massage few drops of fish oil with your finger tips and sleep.

10. Use Your Sunscreen:

Sun is the biggest cause for ageing and other skin related problems. Take a oath and never step out without a good moisturising sunscreen on your skin. As sun can further damage your skin, use generous amounts of organic sunscreen and sunglasses to protect the skin around your eyes.
