How are you doing today? My special thanks to IMBB readers and writers both who motivate, cheer me up with every good & bad experiment in makeup. I would have never mustered the courage to wear neutral pink/peach shades or even pink lip colors without motivation and appreciation that you all show through your likes and comments. Now, I find myself open to try every lip color from light to deep, from shimmery to matte. So, let’s read further to know more about Urban Decay Matte Temper Matte Revolution Lipstick!

My Experience with Urban Decay Matte Temper Matte Revolution Lipstick:

The lipstick’s packaging is pretty similar to rest of the shades and I often get confused with packaging unless I read the shade detail in cardboard packaging or at the bottom of the bullet. Over all, I find it pretty user friendly & travel friendly.

The shade “Temper” is described as matte bright orange red which is true to its description. It comes up semi-matte orange red on my lips with more orangish hue, though sometimes it looks red under different lights. I find it slightly similar to my Bobbi Brown Art Stick Sunset Orange in both finish and pigmentation. But, the Bobbi Brown one looks more creamy matte than this Urban Decay one. I really love such shades that compliment really well with plum/purple outfits apart from summery corals/whites and black outfits.

This shade is one such versatile color that compliments my pale skin tone under any light and weather around. And after my sister snatched my most loved Bobbi Brown Sunset Orange, I had to get this “Temper”. But, I also bought the Sunset Orange again.

The texture of matte Temper is, again, semi-matte and it slips easily on my normal dry lips like Matte Afterdark though it does not contain shimmers. I love how it gives a lightweight, gel like consistency and finish which does not look creamy, cakey even after layering. It does slide like a creamy-matte lipstick on lips, but I would call it a matte as I don’t notice any creamy residue or glossy shine which is most likely seen with most creamy-matte shades. But thankfully, not in this case! I like that it does not sit on top of my dry patches or slip beneath lip lines which makes it make a perfect match for every beauty.

It is way pigmented and imparts nearly full color payoff with 1-2 swipes without looking heavy or cakey on lips! That further explains its utility for everyone including pigmented lips. I also find it perfect for ageing beauties because it won’t add years to our skin by accentuating or highlighting our lips lines. Instead, it imparts a soft glow and pigmentation that looks pretty youthful to put it this way! Needless to say, it won’t bleed or feather around our lips. The shade stays for good 7-8 hours on my lips with light snacks and tea/coffee break while it might stay as long as 7+ hours in exceptional cases.

Being a semi-matte shade, it does not provide any hydration to my lips. But then I did not find the need of a lip balm with this shade either. In fact, I never feel like using a lip balm on lips even after removing it off lips. I am pretty sure it will work well on normal dry lips as it effortlessly slips on my lips for 7+ hours. There is nothing I could complain about this beautiful shade with amazing texture as well. I feel we all need one such shade in our kit to add a variety and change. I have to get it again as I love such bright orange-red shades. You know, right?

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Urban Decay Matte Temper Matte Revolution Lipstick:

• Such a gorgeous, lightweight, semi-matte orange red lipstick with no shimmers
• It slips easily on dry lips without settling into lip lines and/or mild dry patches
• It will definitely forgive mild dry patches
• It gives nearly full coverage with 1-2 swipes without looking cakey or messy on lips
• The texture is really lightweight with gel creamy consistency that adheres like second skin on lips and never appears cakey or streaky
• It does not bleed nor feathers around lips
• Wear time is pretty good 7-8 hours
• Lips feel soft and supple even when I remove this shade
• It imparts a pretty, youthful and even finish that makes it ideal for everyone including ageing beauties and beauty with pigmented lips
• The shade itself is perfect for variety of Indian skin tones
• Such a gorgeous, user friendly & travel friendly packaging

Cons of Urban Decay Matte Temper Matte Revolution Lipstick:

• None

Well, as of now I can hardly think of any con. Moreover, I have special love for such semi-matte orange-red shades that explains my biased opinion for this shade. 😛 But to be honest, there is nothing we can be concerned about as the shade is gorgeous,  has a gel like, semi-matte texture that is beyond excellent. How cool is that? I will definitely get it again & again and I wholeheartedly recommend this shade and lipstick to everyone. Irrespective of your taste for matte or creamy lipsticks, you just need these lip colors!
