How To Use A Beauty Blender For Concealer

Hi everyone,

In this post, I’m going to take you through the simple steps of applying and setting concealer with your beauty blender makeup sponge. Concealer is a must-have makeup product in our everyday makeup stash. It is the most effective way to counteract dark circles and cover up scars and blemishes. However, it’s easy to go overboard with concealer. As a result of that, concealer can easily end up looking heavy, cakey or unnatural on the skin. By using the beauty blender sponge to apply makeup, you can achieve a smooth, flawless and even finish on your skin with a concealer. Let’s take a look at a step-by-step guide to how you can use your beauty blender sponge to apply concealer easily and smoothly:

1. Always Start With A Damp Beauty Blender:

When using your beauty blender sponge to work with concealer, it’s always a good idea to start with a damp sponge. Hold the sponge under a running tap for a couple of seconds and squeeze out the excess water to get a nice and bouncy damp makeup sponge.

2. Apply Under Eye Concealer With Your Ring Finger:

With under eye concealer, it’s best to begin by gently applying the concealer with your ring finger. This will allow the concealer to blend in with your skin most gently and naturally.

3. Follow Up With A Highlighting Concealer:

As the next step, apply a liquid highlighting concealer in an inverted V-shape under the eyes. This will light up the area underneath your eyes and double up as a highlighter for the face. Now, gently tap this concealer into your skin with your ring finger. Of course, this step is optional.

4. Spot Conceal With A Pointed Concealer Brush:

Next, take the concealer that you use for spots, scars, and blemishes and pick up the product using a concealer brush. Spot conceal using the same. If you feel the need, you can blend it in further using your ring finger.

5. Spray Your Makeup Sponge With Setting Spray:

While your beauty blender is still damp, add a few spritzes of a makeup setting spray onto it. When you use this beauty blender to blend away the concealer, it will help the concealer set better and stay in place.

6. Gently Dab The Sponge To Blend In The Concealer:

Now that you are done applying the concealer under the eyes as well as across the face, you can take your damp beauty blender to blend it into your skin step by step. Begin with the under eye region. Use the pointed or tapered side of the beauty blender sponge to blend the undereye concealer. For the rest of the face, use the rounded side and bounce the damp sponge over the areas where you have concealed. This process will give your skin a very natural and smooth finish.

7. Set Concealer With Powder Using Beauty Blender:

As the final step, you will have to use your beauty blender to set the concealer. For this purpose, you could use either a pressed powder or a translucent loose powder. Take the flat surface of the damp beauty blender and press it against the powder to pick up the product. Now apply it to your face wherever you need to set the concealer. Once this is done, you can take the rounded end of the sponge and bounce it across your face to make sure everything is nice and even.
