Hopefully you all are enjoying these pre-monsoon showers. 🙂 We all love nail polishes but they often lead to discolored nails. Along with nail paints, hard water, poor diet, and other household chores can make your nails yellow. So here are some remedies you all can use and how to use them.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Not only for teeth whitening but also for yellow discolored nails, hydrogen peroxide works great because of its whitening properties. This works well for yellow stained nails, but remember you can only use a solution that contains 3 percent hydrogen peroxide, not more.

You need three tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide and half cup of water. Then, mix them both. Soak your affected nails into the solution for two minutes. With the help of a soft tooth brush, scrub your nails. Then rinse with water and pat your nails dry and then apply a good moisturiser for hydration.

We all have heard that lemon can be used on stains because lemon is a natural bleaching agent and can remove any stain including yellow stains of nails.

Take a bowl filled with fresh lemon juice. Soak your stained nails in it for 10 to 15 minutes. Then use a soft toothbrush to scrub the discolored nails. After that, rinse your nails in lukewarm water. Then, apply a moisturizer to lock the moisture in. Continue doing this regularly until you are satisfied with the results.

Denture Cleaning Tablets

This would be an effective treatment for stained nails. The most common ingredient found in denture cleaning tablets are sodium bicarbonate and citric acid which help to remove different kind of stains.

Dissolve two to three tablets in lukewarm water. Soak your nails in the water for 15 minutes. Pat your nails dry and apply some moisturizer on your hands. Repeat this process three times per week for one to two months.
