Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes Review
It has been a very long time, indeed and a lot has happened here. We have got our posting orders to Delhi but the higher authorities are just not letting my husband go. They seem to be too impressed with his work and they are requesting him to stay here for another year. My husband finds it difficult to refuse, so yes, we may live in Andamans for some more time, yay!
By the way, how are people in Orissa and AP doing? Do you guys know that the cyclone Phailine that struck Orissa coast had actually hit our district in Andamans just two days before hitting mainland?
Oh yes! and no news channel reported it. Probably because Andamans usually is out of sight, so its out of mind or maybe because we averted the cyclone without a single death! Yes, so now you see why the administration isn’t letting my husband go? He worked non stop for more than 40 hours without a single minute nap to rescue people and that is why there has been no death due to cyclone here. *feeling proud*
Well, the review is not about my husband’s administrative style but about the facial wipes from Yes to Cucumbers! 😛 So, here we go.
Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that I and Pahal were also stuck in the floods for more than 48 hours! We ate Maggie at a stranger’s house and drank the most delicious and the purest goat’s milk while we tried to figure out ways to survive in the floods 😀 Okay, promise. No more flood talks now and straight to the review 😀

My Take on Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes:
I like these. For the simple fact that they do their job well, feel fresh and are gentle. I could have well reviewed these in the above single line, but that is not all. There is a bit more to these facial wipes. First, it is the CITRIC ACID! I know they added it for the fragrance and maybe to extend the shelf life, but citric acid feels a little harsh on my skin for the first few applications. From the third application onward, it feels fine.
Second, they are really gentle minus the slight stinging you may feel because of the vitamin C acid. I once used Fresh Ones wipes on my face and I got a major allergy. Yes To Cucumbers were quite gentle that way.
These feel fresh. These smell fresh too. They smell of cucumbers and that is how cooling they feel on the face. So that’s a plus.
Another plus is their size. they are relatively bigger than the typical Kara wipes so one wipe is enough for the entire face.
The towelettes are also pretty well moist. I think they beat Kara wipes to this factor as well. The wipes are a flimsy paper-fabric kind of a material similar to those of Kara but these do not feel like plastic at all. They actually feel like a thick paper or a thin fabric soaked in moisture that smells of cucumber.
It is just that citric acid sensation that I don’t like.
Overall, these are great wipes and if you are not aversive to citric acid then these maybe your best bet. These are fresh, gentle, bigger and moist. I give them a THUMBS UP!
Pros of Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes:
- Feels fresh and gentle.
- Cleans properly.
- Claims to be 98% natural.
- Smells cucumber(y).
- Bigger in size, so one wipe effectively covers face (bigger than Kara).
- Very well moist (better than Kara)
Cons of Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes:
- Because of citric acid, it might sting in the beginning.
- Just a little pricey, but since these are more natural in make, I think those who can afford these may ignore the price.
4/5 (minus one for the acid *phew*)
